Chapter 8

                                 Riley's eyes dart open. He sits straight up in the hospital bed.

"What are you talking about!? Riley yells back at Tony. Ayana awakes with a jump.

"What's wrong ?" she asks Riley. He puts up one finger to her.

"Look up your name online Riley, NOW !" Tony Snaps and hangs up.

"Are you ok? Ayana asks worried.

"Yes I am sorry, Tony says I should look up my name online". He says as he kisses her forehead.

                             He begins to type in his name on his cell phone and it's there clear as day a picture of Riley kissing Ayana on the hospital bed.

"Oh my goodness! I am sorry Riley, I've ruined everything for you!" Ayana says upset

"No you haven't" Riley says "But I will tell you what someone in this hospital is about to lose their job" He says in an angry tone. He picks up his phone and dials Jack.

"Riley are you ok?" Jacks asks when he answers the phone.

"Yeah man, I am glad it came out I am truly happy and want everyone to know it but the way it came out I am not happy with. I do not like how they violated Ayana's privacy like that."

"Well she is going to be in the limelight now are you ready for that?" Jack asks.

"Well we will see. I have to talk to her about that later. Right now I want her better."

"Hey her mom is on her way from California but it is a surprise she will be here this afternoon."

"Oh that's great I will touch base with you later about that ok"

"Talk to you later than" Jack says and hangs up.

                      Ayana looks worried and he grabs her hand and bends down to kiss her lips. A nurse comes in carrying a tray of food.

"Good morning I am your day nurse my name is Nique, the orthopedic Dr. will be in after breakfast."

"Thank you." Ayana says eye balling the food that has placed in front of her. "May I ask you a question?" Ayana asks.

"Sure sweetheart." Nique answers her.

"What is the policy of invasion of privacy here at the hospital? She asks.

"It's looked at very seriously dear, Can I ask why you asked me that?" Ayana motions over to Riley to come over from where he is sitting going through all his texts messages.

"Good morning." Riley says to her. He shows Nique the picture on his phone "This was taken last night by staff; it was way after visiting hours." Riley explains.

"Oh my goodness!" Nique says very concerned "Let me find out right now. I have a way of finding things out!" She says full of sass. "Eat now sweet thing you will need your energy" she say to Ayana. "I'll be back." As soon as she leaves Ayana looks at Riley

"What's going to happen?" She asks.

"Nothing to me but are you ready to lose your privacy?" He responds.

"Yes and no, but we are in this together, Right?"

"Right" he says and smiles at her. "I really need to call Jess and see how she is handling this." he says as he begins to dial the phone. A Doctor walks in and smiles at Ayana.

"Hello Ayana, I am Dr. Nyle I am here to set your arm and get you casted, but first I need for you to sign the consents. I will give you a minute to look over the forms ok? What color cast would you like?"

"Pink" she says.

"Pink it is. I will be back in a second." Dr. Nyle says with a smile.

Riley comes back into view from the far side of the room.

"How's Jess?" Ayana asks.

"She is ok, but her fiancé is not happy with me right now." he says.

"I'm sorry Riley" she says again.

"I'm not sorry at all! I am happy for once in my life; no one will take that from me." He says as he kisses her on the lips.

"Are we ready?" Dr. Nyle asks.

"Yes." She replies

"I am not going to candy coat this Ayana, this is not pleasant at all I cannot give you an any pain medication until after the procedure is done." Dr. Nyle explains.

"Are you serious?" Riley asks with wide eyes.

"Sorry but this is true, I will try to do this as quickly as possible. Nurse Nique is on standby with pain medication for your IV as soon as we are done."

"Ok" Ayana says.

"Ok would you like me to hold your other hand?" Riley asks.

"Yes please." She says looking scared.

                         Dr. Nyle gets into position and begins to yank her arm in full force. Ayana lets out a blood curdling scream. Riley is helpless and begins to cry her. All that can be heard is her screams and bones cranking, one last yank a huge crack is heard and once last scream from Ayana. Riley has tears streaming down is his face and so does Ayana.

"Baby, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that pain" Riley says. Ayana just stares at him too exhausted from screaming to reply to him.

"Did someone order some pain medication in here?" Nique says with a smile.

"Oh thank god you are here" Riley says.

"Ok sweet girl, I am going to put this in your IV it is morphine." She says as she puts it in the stopper of the IV. Ayana closes her eyes. "Sleep now sweet girl." Nique looks at Riley. "Honey you should get rest yourself and look into getting a lawyer, our medical director will be here at 5 to speak to you and Ayana. I suggest you come back and hear what he has to say. I also know who took the picture; I told you I have my ways!"

"Wow you work fast Thank You so much, I am just going to go and get change of clothes for the both of us and I will be back as soon as I can" Riley says.

"Ok take your time baby, I will watch her for you." Nique says with a smile.

'Thank you for everything Mrs. Nique." Riley says as he kisses Ayana's forehead before he heads out.

"It has been my pleasure young man." She says. As Riley exits the room he feels all eyes are on him which makes him very uneasy.

"Get back to work!" Nique snaps at the other nurses that are gawking at Riley.

                                Riley gets in the elevator feeling thankful for Nurse Nique. He gets out and heads for the exit. He walks out of the front door of the hospital he is blinded by thousands of flashes and bombarded by question after question

"Riley, why did you cheat!?

"Riley who is she!?"

" Riley, Riley,Riley!!!!!"

                          With his eyes downward he hails a cab and gets in to the cab. Life as he knew it had been changed forever..........
