Chapter 12

                   They get home and they go into Jack and Kaylee's house and there is nobody home.

"I'm going to call them." Ayana says.

"Ok babe, you want something to eat?"

"No. What is there to drink?"

"Lemme see" Riley says as he holds up a beer and a coke and laughs as she points to the coke and smiles.

"Mama? Where are you?"

"Grocery shopping for my famous enchiladas."

"Really!" Ayana says excited.

"Do you need anything?"

"Surprise me." she says and hangs up.

"They are at the bodega." She says to Riley.

"Ok I am going to go get your medications anything else?"

"I made a list." she says as she hands him the folded list. He puts the list in his pocket.

"The Guard is outside if anything."

"Ok babe."

He walks down a few blocks to his favorite mom and pop pharmacy.

"Yo Riley how things!" the owner says when he walks in.

"Could be better Mario but what can we do?" Riley says.

"What can I do for ya?" Mario asks.

"I need to fill these for my girl" he says as he hands him the prescriptions.

"Aight give me 20 minutes."

"My girl gave me a long list of things she needs so I might be here awhile." he laughs as he looks at the list, his eyes grow wide and he thinks to himself what the in the world? Riley got every last item on the list and heads back to the house. He first goes into his own house to leave one of the items at his place as instructed by Ayana. He comes into Jack's house and everyone is back. Kaylee and Ayana's mother are starting to cook the food.

"Where is Ayana?"

"She is in her room." Jack says. He walks to her door and knocks lightly.

"Come in." she says.

"I got everything on the list."

"Did you now?" Ayana smiles.

"Why did you ask me to buy that?" Riley asks.

"Buy what?"

"You know"

"You can't even say the word." She smiles.

"Ok why did you have me buy ummm errrr ummm" his breath catches in this throat and he whispers "Condoms?"

"Well I want to be ready when the time comes." She says.

                  He goes to her and cups her face his hands his breathing is hitched as he kisses her softly. He stops so that he can show her what he got for her. A cast cover, lollipops, different magazines, gum, chocolate, sunflower seeds, shampoo and conditioner. He added a teddy bear that he found at the store that had a tiny cast on, which she squealed over.

"That was some list you gave me." He laughed. He showed her how the cast cover worked. She went off to take her shower.

After her shower she came and showed her mother her teddy bear.
