This Isn't Over, I'll Make This Right... Somehow

Onyx left the room leaving Peri and the broken radio behind. Peri scrambled out from under the blanket and snatched the radio off the ground. The wiring inside was a jumbled mess. No amount of playing with the dials and controls could make the sad little communicator come to life. There was the detail of the wires too; they looked as though they'd been scorched. Onyx was right, the radio was dead.

"This isn't over X. Not on my watch at least. I know your coming for me, but I'll be waiting for you." Peri threatened as she watched the snow blowing outside the large windows. A newfound fire lit her blood ablaze. "The only purge there will be is the one on the wicked forces that control Homeworld."

She watched the snow for a while in silence. There wasn't much she could do but contemplate her next moves. It seemed unlikely that Onyx was going to believe, at least, not without evidence. Then again, the blue gem was right; there wasn't a gem she could think of that started with 'X'. There was something that Peri was certain of, as soon as the storm cleared and they went home she would begin her research. She had access to files and databases. All she would have to do then is dig deep enough into those sources to find her mystery gem.

After what felt like an eternity the distant voices of Tourmaline and Onyx filled the hallway. The voices of the gems were light and joyful, a stark contrast to the anxiety Peri felt. The more she listened to their laughter the more she felt content to relax. She grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around her shoulders. Curling up by the heater she yawned. "I'll find you X, just you wait and see. But for now... a little rest won't hurt."
