It's Saturday and I'm taking the girls to the park. Jack was spending the night with a friend so I wouldn't have to worry about Megan and Jack fighting. Maybe I could actually enjoy my day with the girls. I go into Adeline's room to get her dresses. I put her in a white ruffley romper and a pink headband. I pick her up off the changing table and carry her down the steps.I step into the kitchen. I put her in her baby vibrating chair. I move the chair on to the island counter top so that I can see her. I start to make breakfast. "Megan!" I shout. "Breakfast is ready." Megan comes running in the kitchen in her frozen pajamas. Her brown hair is a ratty mess. "After breakfast, you need to get a bath and then we are going to go to the park for they day. How does that sound?" I ask her.

"Yes! Yes! Yes!" she bounces in her chair.

An hour later I am unpacking the stroller from the back of the car. Ya first time ever that Jim and Maria leave their second car for me. I fasten Adeline's carrier into the stroller so that she is facing me when I push the stroller. I push the stroller with one hand and then hold Megans hand with the other hand. The park is full of people. People getting ice cream, morning joggers, couples on dates, people studying under the shade of the trees. The park is like the typical movie type park. Concrete paths everywhere. Grassy areas with trees and benches under the tree's shade. Ice cream stands, some food trucks.

I continue to venture into the park. I look around for a good ice cream stand to go to. I turn right on a concrete path. Oh no! Just when I thought I could have just one day that wasn't filled with drama. One of the people out on a jog is Aleks. He had on Nike basketball shorts that had a thick stripe down both sides. And that's all he had on. Well except for tennis shoes and headphones leading from his pocket of his short to his ears. Why was I surprised? Just because he was a teacher didn't mean he was some nerd guy.

"Megan lets go to a different ice cream stand," I steer the stroller in the other direction, pulling Megan along. I look back over my shoulder to make sure Aleks didn't see me. I don't think he did. After we are a safe distance away from him I buy Megan a vanilla ice cream cone. We go to sit at a bench under a tree. I lay out a big plaid red and black blanket for Megan to sit on and play with her toys. I remove Adeline from her car seat that I had her in in the stroller and sat down on the blanket with her on my lap. Megan gets up and starts chasing a butterfly that she saw pace by her head. In one quick moment her ice cream falls to the ground. She starts to cry. After laughing for a moment, I jog to go get her. I swing her onto my hip and walk back to the blanket. I wrap her in a hug to calm her down. I pulled her back so that she could look at me.

"You stay here and watch Adeline and I will go get you another cone," I say giving her a sympathetic smile."

"Oh," sniffle, "k," sniffle. She sits down cross legged on the blanket. I walk back over to the stand and wait in line.

As the person in front of me leaves I go up to order. "I need another vanilla ice cream cone," I say to the fat man behind the stand. I move over and wait for my order to come.

"You're avoiding me," a voice says behind me. I knew that voice from anywhere. I turned around to respond.

"Aleks can we not talk about this here," I point at the my girls about 45 feet away. "I have my girls with me." I say frowning at him. Why was this man so damn good looking. He's to gorgeous for his own good. All I wanted right now was to run my hands over his perfectly shaped abs. But no, I was here to set things straight.

"I just want to talk about..," he starts to say but I cut him off.

"Well I don't want to, can things just go back to normal," I snap at him. It hurts me to see the look on his face. It went from smiling to a frown in like .2 seconds.
