It feels like my legs aren't even there. I've lost all feeling in my toes and we aren't even half way there. I glance at the GPS one more time. We've moved four miles since I last checked.
"Elijah I can't do this anymore. You have to let me out." He just rolls his eyes and groans.
"Just like I told you two minutes ago Tyler, we can't stop right now. Just give it another hour or two."
"But I can't feel my legs!" I whine. He shakes his head and abruptly pulls over.
"There." I glance out the window and there is nothing but field. I turn back to Elijah, but his face is unchanging.
"Well, actually I was hoping we could stop somewhere to get food?"
"Jesus Tyler. We aren't joy riding, we have things to do!" Elijah says, shoving his head against the headrest.
"Well I need to eat!" I say with a pout.
"You are always hungry Tyler! What is up with that?" He says angrily, but drives off. We get off on the next exit and pull into a small diner. He points to some empty seats and I go sit. He orders food and pays then comes back to sit with me for the wait.
"So..."
"What Tyler?" He says as he pulls out a phone from his pocket.
"Hey! What the hell!"
"What?" He looks up at me.
"I thought we couldn't have phones!" I raise an eyebrow, but he just smiles.
"No one said that Mittens." He looks back to his phone and I kick him under the table.
"Well then give me back my phone!"
"Oh, no can do. Your phone can be tracked." He looks to the cashier but they don't seem to be in a hurry to make our food. "I'm going to go use the restroom."
"Me too."
We stand up at the same time and as we walk towards the bathrooms, I purposely bump into him.
"Opps," I say at the same time I slip my hand into his pocket for the phone.
"Tyler really? Watch where you are going. I swear you walk staring at the ground." He rolls his eyes and walks into the boy's bathroom. I smile evilly to myself and stick my tongue out. I walk outside and quickly dial in Izzy's number. It rings for a second, but then she picks up.
"Okay, now who the hell is this?" Izzy says sleepily.
"Iz, it's me," I say quietly.
"Ty? TY? Where the fuck are you? We have been worried sick about you!"
"Look, I don't have a lot of time. I just want to let you know that I'm okay and I want you to tell my mom I'm good and I love her."
"You can't go missing for two weeks without talking to anyone and expect nothing to happen Ty. Your mom called the cops. She is legit losing her mind." I can hear her moving around.
"I know Izzy, but trust me I didn't do this on purpose. I just," lie Ty, lie your ass off, "I just needed some time to myself."
"Time to yourself? Are you stupid Ty?"
"Izzy, I promise you I'm okay. And I'm not alone. This guy-"
"GUY? Did he kidnap you?" Izzy says immediately. "Clap once if you need saving."
"No Iz. We are going to fix everything."
"Fix everything? This is all bullshit Tyler. Get our ass home now," Izzy says quickly.
