Mia POV

I changed into a regular yoga pants and a regular shirt not caring how my appearance looked. Today was my day off and I just couldn't just sit here and do nothing. I hardly got any sleep. My mind kept replaying the words that left his mouth.

"What are you day dreaming about?" I heard my mom say. She walked in the kitchen preparing herself with some coffee.

"Nothing important." I couldn't tell her who I seen yesterday. I knew exactly how she felt about him.

"I've never seen you so serious...are you sure you don't want to talk about it?" I shook my head. Her meaning of talking was trying to figure me out. She always judged me and even more since the incident, but I was used it.

"I'm going to go for a run, I'll see you in a bit." I say leaving before she would say anything else or make me oppose to it.

I began jogging around the park area, I loved coming here. Marco use to be so different. It was here where we met, we're we had our first date, when he asked me out.

I don't know why I returned here, but I just loved the memories I had with him. I watched children playing and some other ladies walking around. It felt good to be out and enjoy myself to be able clear my mind for a bit.

I kept jogging around and noticed mothers hurried to get their children into their vehicles. They were in a hurry to drive off but I didn't understand.

I was alone in the park. My gaze was directed toward a group of guys making their way towards me. I wondered what made them so frightening?

"What's sup?" I heard one of them say. He had dark hair and big brown eyes. He was a bit taller than me and I noticed once he got in front of me. "Do you talk?" He smirked, enlightened by my quiet state.

I ignored him, and walked right passed him. At that moment I felt a hand push me back. "I'm talking to you bitch!" His grip tightening around my arm.

"Let go of me!" I said trying to remove my arm off of him. He didn't budge I was too weak for his strength. His friends laughed, amused watching me in fear.

"I like my ladies like you." He laughed. "You're pretty hot, but that attitude I'll make it change." His voice deepen and I was scared.

"Get your hand off of her!" I looked over at Marco who was now in front of me. He easily pulled me back and now I was free.

"Well look who we have here. Look who decided to return." I was confused, how did they know him.

"Yeah I'm back and what?" I watched Marco straighten himself up and was eyeing all of them fearlessly.

"Nothing, we're just surprised you'd be back." The guy said taking a few steps back. "Look man, I didn't know this was your girl." Was he apologizing?

"Yeah she is. If I see you again laying a hand on her, it's not going to be pretty." Marco intertwine his hand in mind and he walked off with me. He pulled me inside and drove off.

After a few minutes of silence I spoked up. "Thank you." He glanced at me. My vision was down I looked at my now bruised arm.

"How's your arm?" He asked, he parked his car, turning his attention towards me.

"It's just a little bruised." I showed him. The guy had dug his fingernails into my flesh which caused a little bleeding.

"You shouldn't be in the streets anymore...it's unsafe asshole like that are everywhere." He said still a little angry.

"Who is he? And how do you know him?" I raised both of my eyebrows at him.

"Someone I used to kick it with back in the day." That's all he said not revealing more.

"Oh" I nodded.

"I thought you didn't involve yourself in those type of groups?" I didn't want to use the word gang, because I knew that will upset him.

"No, like I said I just kicked it with them." He really didn't seem happy having me here. I could tell he was still upset but not by the guy by yesterday night argument.

"Well thanks for everything." I pulled open my door, but he hover over my body and closed it.

"I'm not leaving you here." He said sternly. He went over my body again reaching for the seat belt. Having him this closed just maybe realized how much I missed him. I could smell his cologne, but beyond his breath hinting on my fare skin. I looked up at him. His blue eyes looking at my big brown eyes. I smiled lightly at him and he grinned at me.

"Let's go get a bite to eat?" He suggested.

"Haven't I bothered you enough?" I say still looking at my bruised arm.

He moves his hand on top of my fragile one and slowly soothes it in small circles. "I promise this won't happen to you again. You don't have to be scared anymore Mia." But I was scared. I was scared of everything and everyone. I didn't know what their intentions meant and that's what frighten me the most.

"Why are you being nice to me?" I thought he disliked me.

He laugh, "even if you piss me off which you do, I could never hate you. You're still one of the truest persons I have left that know me for me."

"But yes-" He cut me off. "Yesterday doesn't matter, we both said things we shouldn't have." He said with a light smile. "It was a nice welcoming though." I laughed.

"Cocky asshole...that really got me here" He pointed to his heart, pouting to be sad.

"I'm sorry I was angry at you." He nodded. "I forgive you" He shot back with a grin. "Now let's go get some food." He started driving but I just couldn't help but admire him sometimes.

Yes, he makes me angry but I could never hate him. We had that impact on each other and is it weird to say I kind of liked it. Maybe he wasn't different...he was the same. I misjudged him, and I like him being part of my life again.
