Mia POV

I repeated my morning by getting ready for work. I quickly changed and went downstairs for an apple. My eating habits have been low. I haven't been hungry lately with all this stress and drama. My mother wasn't in the kitchen for the first time in forever. She usually will say something that isn't right about me.

I guess she was still mad, but I don't have time nor I don't want to think about that right now. I got in my car hurrying for work before I'll be late.

I got in tossing a apron on me. I began my usual job. "Wow...you look like you didn't have a good day off." Maria said as a joke. If only she knew she was right. I didn't have a nice day off.

"I didn't really." I confessed turning to her. Work was pretty slow today which brought us to conversate more. She gave me a sympathy stare before looking at my arm. "Whoa what happened there?" Her index finger pointed to my bruised lower arm. I slid my arm in back of me forgetting I had it.

"I fell on my arm pretty bad yesterday." A lame excuse, hopefully she'll believe. She nodded lightly.

"Listen Mia, I know we don't know each other that well, but you can always tell me anything." I smiled at her. Her olive complexion skin matched her hazel eyes. Maria was pretty not just outside but inside as well. She was the nicest person I knew. I nodded, "thanks for that."

"You have my number, just call me anytime you want to talk or hang out." She said walking away to check up on the customers.

"Hey...Mia right?" I turned to a familiar face that I couldn't remember. Where have I seen him before?

"Yeah." Was all I said.

"I'm one of Phoras friends we came here the other day." I nodded lightly, and realized that's why he looked familiar. "Oh..hey" I said lightly.

"I know this weird, but we are having a little welcoming back party for Phora...and I wanted to invite the people he knows here." I couldn't go. As much as I knew Marco we weren't friends or anything anymore.

"I-I don't know if I should go?" I wasn't sure it would be the best circumstance considering where we stand.

"It will mean a lot to him to have the people he cares about." Maria came by my side overhearing our conversation. "She will be there." She bursted out to say, I tossed my direction towards her shocked.

"Great here is the address...hope to see you there too" He extended his arm over to meet Maria's. She smiled, "Maria and you are?"

"Andrew, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said with a light smile as she blushed. "See you guys on Friday." He said leaving out not before taking another look at Maria.

"I didn't want to go" I blurted out to say to her. "I know you didn't, but now you have to." I rolled my eyes at her playfully. "Come on will just go for a bit, plus I really haven't had a fun night out in a while." She pleaded.

"You just want to go because Andrew is going to be there." She blushed. "Well can you Blame me, the guy is hot!" I laughed. "Fine I'll go just for a bit." She gave me a quick hug. "You're the best" I smiled this was going to be so awkward.

...

Before I knew it Friday struck and I was dreading this day. I didn't want to see him and yet I was sort of forced for Maria sake.

My mom hasn't spoken to me all week and it began to worry me. Did I really make her that upset. I didn't mean too. I didn't like not talking to my mother for days, yes she annoys me but I have no one else.

I was already off of work and I knew my mother won't be back until the morning. She took the afternoon and night shift just to have enough stability. I admired her hard work, but it was lonely sometimes. Living in this house was hard to do. My thoughts were soon interrupted by a knock on the door, it must be Maria.
