Time Flies

“Emelia, you don’t understand how long I’ve waited to meet you. You’re perfect and I can’t believe you’re mine.” Don’t judge me I’m not actually expecting her to answer me. Damon and I decided to make a video diary sort of thing of her life so in the future she can see what it was like living with a vampire and having a werewolf dad when she was a baby.  We’ve been doing it since she arrived home almost two months ago. Its weird how fast time flies.

Carefully I placed the camera down on the table and re adjusted my sleeping daughter in my arms. Without warning she began to squirm around which probably meant she was due a bottle. I’ll give her some credit she is a good baby she hardly ever cries which is great but it make it hard to realise when she needs something. To try to get her to be still I started singing a lullaby while searching for a clean bottle.

“Hush, little baby, don't say a word.

Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird,

And if that mockingbird won't sing,

Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring”

Mid song Damon decided to walk into the kitchen with a pre-made bottle with that beautiful smirk plastered on his face. Within seconds Damon had Emelia in his arms while feeding her, I honestly don’t know how id cope without him. People had their doubts *cough cough* Caroline but Damon’s proved every single one of them wrong. He’s been amazing.

Tyler’s meant to be coming over today which is great considering she’s been home for seven weeks already and he’s seen her once and that was only because he had to drop off a present from his Mom. The boarding house has been pretty hectic this past week! Stefan moved out for two days and went to live at my old place with Elena, Jenna and Jer. He came back though and brought Elena with him thank god. Elena’s been helpful as well going out getting baby stuff for me and bringing homework from school. I hate school but I seriously don’t want to fail especially now I’ve got Emelia I need to set an example.

“Elle, we’re going out later. It’s kind of a date, I thought you could use the break. Don’t worry I’ve asked Stefan and Elena to babysit! I would’ve asked Tyler but I’ve not seen him recently.” He’s right I could use the break I’m exhausted getting up every two hours to feed a baby is hard work no matter what anyone says.

I simply nodded and started putting all the dirty clothes in for a wash. Who would’ve thought a baby could go through so many clothes in a week?! She uses more than me that’s for sure.

---1 hour later---

“Damon could you answer the door?! I’m changing Lia’s Diaper!”

“Sure!” He yelled back.

I could hear the awkward conversation taking place downstairs. Tyler’s here obviously. After changing Emelia I carried her back down the stairs and greeted Tyler who looked for lack of better words horrible.

“Hey Ty, what’s up? You look…different.” My voice was a tad shaky towards the end needless to say I felt slightly awkward. Yes ok? I feel awkward even though we were best friends and I’ve had sex with him and had his baby it’s still awkward.

“Hey Elle, Nothing much. Sorry for not coming to visit earlier but I had to go out of town to help some werewolf friends with the full moon thing. I’m exhausted. Anyway enough about me how’s my princess been?” The love in his voice when he spoke about Emelia was amazing you could literally hear the devotion to her dripping in his every word.

“She’s been great! Not fussy at all which is amazing! Though I reckon we should talk about the possibility of her turning into a dog when she’s older.” Ah Damon always the one to be subtle. Gotta love his ability to speak his mind.

That made it a million times more awkward than it already was. Strangely Tyler actually laughed at Damon’s remark and instead of arguing he gestured for Damon to place his daughter in his arms, which Damon did without a fuss.

Tyler sat with her for a good couple of hours before he had to leave. I wish he would’ve stayed longer maybe he could’ve bonded more with her but I guess ‘werewolf duties’ are important.

Elena and Stefan finally emerged from their room and immediately took Lia away from me as they took her to her nursery for her nap. Damon walked over to me and embraced me for the longest time ever. He placed a sweet peck on top of my head before pulling me onto his back and carrying me to our room.

We both got ready for the ‘date’ and I even put make-up on which I hadn’t done since having Lia I gotta admit I don’t have too much time to myself now so my appearance has suffered. Damon had his suit on and asked me to do up his tie since it was leaning to one side. I decided to dress formally like Damon even though I was yet to discover where he was actually taking me.

I opted for a Dark Blue knee length dress with lace sleeves. Thank god I actually kept some of my figure. I’m no way near as skinny as before but I’m not nearly as big as I was a week ago. I let my naturally curly hair flow loosely down my back.

“You look stunning.” Damon said while lowering his head down to my neck and leaving a trail of kisses up to my lips.

“You don’t look half bad yourself, come on let’s say by to Emelia!” the thought of spending anytime away from her was pain inducing.

We crept into the nursery where my princess lay sound asleep in her cot. She began to squirm and I picked her up while Damon and I placed kisses on her forehead and told her we loved her. After a couple of minutes she settled back down and I lay her down in her cot.

As we entered the living room Stefan and Elena were getting ‘personal’ on the sofa. It was a bit weird but hey at least she won’t get knocked up! Damon cleared his throat to grab their attention and announced that we were leaving and would be back tomorrow morning.

I turned immediately with my mouth wide open. “You never said we’d be out all night Damon. I didn’t even pack.” Damon simply smiled and pulled me out the door and into his Camaro.
