In a flashback to the night of Katy's first full moon, Steph is crying. She is trying to curse the people who took her best friend from her. It is only then that Katy emerges from the lake and offers her help.
The night Marco was filming Steph witnesses Katy's transformation into the familiar. Then she sees the creature in her car's side mirror creeping up behind the vehicle. As the familiar reaches her, Steph extends her hand to the window and a hand matches her on the other side of the glass. Steph then shares a vision of the familiar killing Wong Lee's father the night before.
Eli and Dakota try to convince Detective Thompson that Steph, not Mr. Happy, is the real killer. Eli speculates that Steph somehow borrowed the teacher's car to lay suspicion on him when his former students turned up dead. The detective is skeptical but they manage to get him to go back into the Police Department to review the evidence. At the station, they review security footage from the night Jessica Bartlet was killed. Steph is seen walking down the street towards her. She is also seen talking to Dakota's father. Scott calls him and he remembers talking to Steph because she was tracking mud all over the store.
The Detective says they have footprint evidence at the scene of the cabin murders and a credit card receipt for an oil change the night the mechanic was killed. They can now place Steph at the scene of four murders including the rave. The detective asks Dakota to call her dad back to come down to the station to give a statement in hopes of getting an arrest warrant for Steph.
Eli heads to the front of the office and finds the officer on duty dead, bloody and slashed. He turns to find Steph pointing the officer's service revolver at his head.
Marco is floating in a formless white void. Someone is calling his name. He is naked. Covered in sweat, his breath comes in short little gasps. The voice says "we don't have much time" then he is assaulted by a low-pitched ear-splitting sound.
He awakes on the floor at Reserve House with Dianna kneeling over him. Marco asks about the sound that brought him out of his daze and the old woman produces a sub-sonic dog whistle. Marco is weak, nearly falling when he tries to stand. The old woman says this will last for several hours. Dianna assures him that he is still a werewolf just not a particularly competent one.
Dianna explains that helping the shaman used to be a pretty important part of her life and that helping Marco is a promise she made to his mother. Marco says his sister, Justine, had spoken of Dianna as a skin walker and she says her time fighting is done.
Dianna explains that Luca's return came at a price as he will now be physically weak and will have to rely on his intelligence and cunning. Dianna believes Lockwood will now come after Marco and try to get inside his head and manipulate him. She predicts that Lockwood will try to convince Marco that working together is the only way to stop Luca but Dianna says Marco should not trust him. Marco says he doesn't trust anyone. "I know," quips Dianna. "If you did you might be the werewolf you like to think you are."
She then intimates that Dakota doesn't fully trust Marco but that Marco must find her as fast as he can because Dianna has known Luca for a long time and she knows the man has a plan and she believes that plan is going exactly the way he wants it to.
Steph leads Eli at gunpoint back to Dakota and the detective. RJ's dad tries to talk her down but Steph is having none of it. She handcuffs the detective outside the jail cells and leads Dakota and Eli away down the hall. They see three police officers dead and bloody on the floor. Steph says she just has to think about killing and Katy does it for her. The familiar arm reaches out and drags one of the bodies out of site.
RJ sits alone in the center of his bed worrying, the door open and he can something the edge of what appears to be a green bathrobe. Luca enters. RJ says he doesn't want to talk but Luca says he has a letter from his mother that explains what happened and why she had to kill herself. Luca gives it to him along with a speech, which seems like a lie, about how Mrs. Thompson had asked Mr. Preston to read the letter and help her write it. Luca works this into a push for retribution against Lockwood and his pack.
