"How many of these damn things are there?!" Io yelled in frustration as she slashed through yet another Niflheim soldier. Hadria gritted her teeth as she lashed her scepter at a group of soldier who began to shoot at her.
"Less talking more slicing!" Kiora voice rose as she split one in half with ease. It hadn't taken long after the small chat for all of them together to finally get through all the soldiers. Hadria let go of her scepter and it shot back into her chest. Soon after, Noctis called a man named Cor, and it didn't sound like good news. At the end of the conversation he complied with the man on the other side of the line.
"We have to go meet him back in Hammerhead in a few minutes." Noctis's voice was slightly broken, and everyone's eyes was on him. Kiora nudged Hadria and handed her a phone. It was Hadria's sister waiting for her. Hadria excused herself from the group and held the phone up to her ear.
"Adeline, are you still there?" Hadria's voice was stiff, but a hint of nervousness was shining through. Her younger sister by three years only gave her a laugh before speaking.
"Of course I am, I heard that you are in a predicament at the moment. A penny for your thoughts?" Her voice was light, but worry laced her it.
"Lucis has fallen to the Imperial army. I have decided to help the prince and his people. Adeline, listen to me carefully, if I don't come ba-" Hadria was quickly interrupted by her sister.
"You will come back! You are way too strong to ever perish in a fight! Mother taught you better, Hadria!" Adeline's voice was shrilling and Hadria winced in pain.
"I told you to listen, Adeline. I never said I would die, but you need to understand that it's a possibility. Lead the kingdom on if I am no longer there. You never are truly alone, Adeline. Remember what I always say?" Hadria aimlessly walked around as her younger sister tried to keep her composure.
"You are never alone or helpless. The force that guides the stars guides you too." Adeline's voice cracked, and Hadria teared up. Nothing pained the older princess more than to see her own sister cry without being able to help her.
"Keep your head up, Adeline. I will see you soon." Hadria whispered into the phone while she wiped her eyes on her sleeve.
"Please come home, Hadria. I will be waiting everyday." Adeline spoke before ending the phone call. Hadria put the phone in her pocket, and dried her eyes before walking back to the group.
Now all eyes were on her.
She gave Kiora the phone back, and walk straight to the car.
"Hadria, where are you going?" Io had yelled over to her. Hadria kept walking without looking back.
"We have to go to Hammerhead don't we? Let's get going." Her voice cracked, and she fought back the tears that dared to spill out her her eyes. Everyone knew she was in distress so they complied and got into their designated cars. They started back towards Hammerhead, and the the area was awkward in the car. Kiora finally broke the silence after a few minutes.
"Did you talk to Adeline about..." she trailed off, obviously not wanting to anger Hadria. Hadria shifted in her seat, nodding her head slowly. She knew if she opened her mouth, tears would soon follow. No one said anything for the rest of the ride. Hadria was so upset, worried, and pained to say anything to anyone. She would just snap at whoever dared to approach her. She didn't like being like this, but she was her mother's daughter. She didn't look like her mother or father though, which was quite odd to her. She had dark hair and dark eyes, while her parents and younger sister and light hair that was almost white. Even her parents looked like their ancestors, but Hadria was the outlier. She had asked her parents multiple times, but all they would say was that she was a special gift given to them. She never doubted her parents though. They loved her down to their lasts moments, and she loved them back. The Imperial army took them away from her and her sister, and she swore to never ever make amends with the kingdom of Niflheim. They took some of her happiness, it wouldn't be fair to let Prince Noctis go through the same thing. Hadria looked at the scenery all around her, finding herself more free than ever physically. She still had the deep feeling of worry dwelling in her core, but she knew she shouldn't let it eat her up.
They all rolled into Hammerhead within an hour, and saw Cor waiting for us. They pulled up into the gas station.
"We gotta fill up with gas, I think you should go talk with Cor and the others so you know what's really going down." Kiora suggested towards Hadria. The princess hesitated before complying with her friend.
"Very well. Be safe over here. You never know what the hell is roaming around this area." Hadria warned the both of them, and they saluted her.
"I didn't know the princess had such a colorful vocabulary." The Prince said from behind her. She rolled her eyes as she turned around to look at him.
"Is eavesdropping your new hobby or something, Prince Noctis?" She hissed out at him. He was only kidding around with her, and she knew that.
"Or I came over here to tell you that we have a small mission to go on. I was being the gentleman and waited for you to get done talking with your friends." He shot back at her, drawing an smirk onto his lips.
"On this mission, could you please catch me on with what's happening?" She asked him, looking into his eyes.
How can his eyes look so pure?
"Yeah. I'm sure one of us can speed you up on what's happening. Right now we have to go. Cor just wants you to come along, and not your friends." Noctis said softly, scratching the back of his neck.
"What do you mean they can't come? Your little gang can go along, but the people I trust my life in can't?! Why should I even be helping if you all are just going to boss us around?!" Hadria was yelling by the end of her rant. Noctis pulled her closer to him, and grasped her shoulders with his hands.
"Because I need your help. My father is probably dead, the kingdom has fallen, I'm supposed to be getting married, and I'm only one person. I know you aren't happy with me already. I'm surprised that you even asked to help me. We aren't as close as we used to be because of the choices of both my father and I. I am terribly sorry for it, I truly am. Hadria, I truly need your help, and your friends help. I don't really know why Cor doesn't want them to come along with us, but it has to be for a good reason. So, will you please put your trust in us?" Noctis had tears in his eyes as he spoke in a soft tone. Hadria herself was in tears, and was hastily wiping them away. She missed being with Noctis, and she finally realized this. She looked back up into his mesmerizing blue eyes, nodding her head slowly.
"Of course Noctis. I'll assist you in anyway possible. Can I talk to them real quick before we leave?" She asked him as he let go of her shoulders. He moved to the side so she could walk back over to her friends. She gave them a quick run down, and slowly accepted the fact that it was her decision to go with the prince. She gave them a quick goodbye before returning back to Noctis.
"Let's go. Cor said it shouldn't take too long anyways." Noctis said as they walked to the four guys waiting for them in front of the Regalia.
"His definition of long and our definition of long are completely different, Noctis." She looked over at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Well this might be a little difficult for us then, won't it?" He chuckled and she rubbed her forehead.
