If someone would have told the princess that she would have been stuck in between two grown men in a car while they go try to save a kingdom, she would have laughed at your face. On her left was Gladio who was leaning against the window, and Noctis was on her right currently sleeping on her shoulder. She looked down at him like he was a creature from hell. Gladio chuckled at the sight, and nudged Hadria softly.
"Don't worry, you get used to it after awhile. He'll sleep on anything and sleep through everything, guaranteed." Gladio spoke in his normal tone, obviously not afraid of the sleeping prince to wake up. Hadria's eyes threw daggers at the man at least two or three times her size.
"Do I look like a pillow to you?" Hadria raised an eyebrow, looking forwards towards the road. Gladio shook his head in amusement in return. Prompto shifted in his seat so that he was staring at the princess. She looked at him for a minute, waiting for him to say something, but the blonde boy just tilted his head at her.
"Do you need something?" Hadria asked him politely, and he shook his head. Noctis shifted against her shoulder, and made a squeaky noise. Hadria laughed softly at the sound that came out of his mouth as she looked down at him. The princess was in content until Prompto took a picture of the moment with his camera. Her head shot up to Prompto as he slowly lowered the camera down from his face.
"Delete that picture or I swear to the gods..." Hadria seethed at Prompto, and he shook his head no. Ignis looked over at the two as they bickered on what to do with the picture. Even Gladio was getting sick of it after a minute. Suddenly, the car jerked and everyone was sent back into their seat, except Noctis. His head banged against the window, and he instantly woke up. He rubbed his head, and looked up at Ignis with a look that just asked why. Hadria pointed at Prompto just as Prompto pointed his finger at her. Before another argument occurred, Ignis swiftly briefed Noctis up on the situation.
"It seems to be that Prompto took a picture of Hadria that she less than loved. She wanted him to delete it, but being the child he is, he refused. I then made it my responsibility to end it. I didn't mean for you to wake up, your majesty." Noctis grunted in response, and Hadria stifled a laugh. Noctis looks at her with question, and she shook her head.
"I just never heard someone call you your majesty. You always let me call you Nocty when we were kids." Hadria cooed at him, making Noctis blush as soon as she said the nickname she gave him when they were kids. He groaned in annoyance, and shot her a glare.
"Do we need to bring up the nickname that was given to you?" Noctis drew a smirk onto his face, and Hadria became pale. She shook her head quickly.
"It doesn't even rhyme with my name!" Hadria wailed as she started to beg him not to say it.
"Don't worry, stumblebum. Your secret is safe with me." Noctis's voice was threatening with a bit of excitement all together. Hadria lunged for him, but he easily deflected her blows. She started to call him every name in the book, and all the prince could do was laugh in adoration. Ignis himself could not hold back from having a small smile on his face as he glanced back at the two kids. Hadria stopped trying to fight Noctis, but muttered some more words under her breath. To her, this fight was definitely not over, and she would be getting revenge on the man to her right.
It didn't take long for the princess to realize how exhausted she was until everyone became quiet again, and she slumped more into the car seat. Noctis hadn't went back to sleep yet, and he noticed her change in stature. He knew that she wasn't exactly used to this kind of change. She went out of her way to come and help him, and his kingdom, and he was grateful. The look of pure tiredness was evident on her face, and he felt bad for her.
"You need to take a nap or something. You look like a half dead grandma sitting there." Noctis whispered in her ear. She scoffed in return, squinting up at him.
"I'm fine, we are close to our destination, aren't we Ignis?" Hadria's voice was slightly raspy, and she blinked very slowly. Ignis looked back at her in the rearview mirror.
"We are about an hour away from where we are to meet up with Cor, your Highness." Ignis replied, making Hadria rub her forehead. She leaned her head against the seat, closing her eyes for a moment. She then turned to Gladio, and breathed out softly.
"Can you make sure that Noctis and or Prompto doesn't disturb me while I get some shut eye?" She asked him in a silent voice. He nodded his head in reassurance, looking at both Prompto and Noctis with a daring expression. The two boys back off a bit as Hadria tried settling into a comfy spot, but she was failing miserably. Noctis had started to doze off again so she leaned against his shoulder like he did to her earlier. This startled the prince slightly, and he looked over at Hadria. She looked comfortable, and he would usually shrug someone off of him. He stared at her face for a minute, taking in her sharp features going from her cheekbones to her jawline. Noctis found himself smiling at her, and he gazed back up to his three friends. Prompto was looking through his camera, Gladio was staring off outside the window, and Ignis was focused on driving. Noctis shook his head, laying his head back down against his arm. It didn't take long for the prince to fall asleep, but before he clocked in for about an hour only one thing was going through his mind.
