Hadria was one of the many people who were alert when they heard any kind of noise when they were asleep. So hearing Prompto yipping since they had reached their destination made her jump up immediately, resulting in her hitting her head on the roof of the car. Luckily no one had noticed her moment as now everyone was quick to get out of the car. Not much was said besides the complaints of what Cor has made them do so far just to meet him. They started towards the trail that was lined with rock walls. Hadria became wary of her surroundings, feeling as if something was going to come out right at that instance and attack them. She took her scepter out from the circle on her chest, keeping her eyes peeled for anything. Suddenly a hand pushed her down the ground. She glared at Gladio as it was he who made her duck down, but she soon saw that the other boys were ducking as well. A ear splitting squawk was heard just a few meters away.

Fuck, daggerquill. Hadria thought to herself.

"Well what's the plan?" Noctis looked back at Ignis for a answer.

"Crush the opposition, that's the plan!" Ignis said before we all got up and started to go after the beasts. There wasn't any struggle while they fought, but Prompto's talking did get her distracted for a second. One of the beasts got it's claws on her and ripped open her skin on her upper arm. She cussed in retaliation before killing the stupid thing. The boys congratulated each other, not taking notice to her until Noctis was going to give Hadria a high five but she was nowhere to be seen. She slid down the rock wall as she was having trouble to stop the bleeding.

How could I let my guard down like that? This has never happened before... Hadria was scolding herself as she knew she could do better, so much better.

All the boys were yelling for her, and how horrible that idea was. More of the daggerquills could show up from the sound of their loud voices. Ignis was the first to find her though, and sighed at the obvious three slash marks on her arm. The three others tumbled over after him and Prompto gasped at the the marks. Ignis gave her a potion to drink and she felt a lot better after a few minutes. She had lost a good amount of blood, but not enough for her to be in danger at all.

"Are you sure you want to keep going on with us to see Cor? We can always take you back to the car to rest." Ignis suggested, but it took everything inside Hadria to not unleash her anger on him. He was only trying to help her, and she was grateful for that, of course.

"I can surely go on with your guys. It wasn't anything but a few scratches. Let's go, shall we?" Hadria replied, pursuing her way back up the trail, and yet again was met with more of those god awful daggerquills. The boys started fighting again, but she wasn't having it. She raised her hands up to the same level as most of the beast before quickly pulling them back towards her sides. All the flying creatures were sent soaring down the ground where they were met with their death. The boys snapped their heads to Hadria and she just shrugged. Noctis sported a smirk on his lower face as he walked down the stairs to the first tomb of many that belong to his ancestors.

"At last, Your Highness." Cor turned to look at Noctis.

"Yeah, wanna tell me what I'm here for?" Noctis replied. Hadria stood back a bit and took in everything happening.

"The power of kings, passed from old to the new through the bonding of souls. One such soul lies before you. Try to claim your forebears' power is your birthright and duty as king." Hadria stared at Cor as he gave Noctis a small speech.

"My duty as king of what?" Noctis grunted back at the older man.

"Now is not the time to question your calling. A king is sworn to protect his people." Cor threw daggers at Noctis from his eyes.

"And yet he chose to protect only one prince. Was that his calling? Forsake the masses to spare his own son?" Noctis shot back. Hadria's eyes bulged in disbelief at what Noctis had said.

"How long will you remain protected? The king entrusted the role of a protector to you." Cor started to take strides towards Noctis while his voice was rising.

"Entrusted it to me? Then why didn't he tell me that? Why did he stand there smiling as I left? Why...Why did he lie to me..." Noctis was obviously hurt from what his father had done to him, but he didn't understand that there was a reason behind his father's reasoning.

"That day, he didn't want you to remember him as the king. In what time you had left, he wanted to be your father. He always had faith in you, that when the time came, you would ascend for the sake of your people." Cor lowered his voice, but still held his ground with Noctis. He needed Noctis to understand his duty. It was a hard idea to come to terms with all of a sudden, Hadria learned the same way.

"Guess he left me no choice then." Noctis's voice was hoarse, and if you looked at him for a minute you could see a few tear stains. He lifted his hand up to the sword of his ancestor, and it immediately shot up and glowed. Finally it shot into his core and Hadria gasped in shocked. Noctis himself was stunned as he watched the sword circle around him.

"The power of the kings goes with you, Your Majesty." Cor said as Noctis was still trying to retain everything he was just told. Cor told us that another tomb lied close by and we should head there next. Cor was to tag along for a bit to measure the Prince's strength. Noctis walked in front of everyone, but Hadria caught up with him. Nothing was said for a minute between the two royal kids, but finally Noctis broke the silence.

"We are going to be in some real dangerous places, you still want to go?" Noctis nudged her shoulder, and raised an eyebrow.

"I have more experience with this kind of stuff than you, Noct. I'm not going to back down because of some beasts. Don't you know me?" Hadria teased the Prince in hopes to make him feel a little better, and it worked.

"Looks like I will have to be your knight and shining armor then." He shook his head as he chuckled.

"More like dork in a tin foil hat, but whatever helps you sleep at night." She shot back at him, and he held his heart in fake distraught. The four boys behind them only watched in amusement, knowing that they were an unstoppable duo.
