"I don't get it. How long are we going to keep Cass in the dark?" Nate asked as we walked into Bobby's kitchen.

"Until we know whose side he's on," I said.

"But he's always been on ours," he said.

"Things change." I shrugged. "And besides, what are you upset about? You're the one who brought up that he might be working with Crowley."

Nate nodded. "I know, but the more I think about it, the less it makes sense."

"There's a lot Cass hasn't been telling us lately," I said.

He nodded, filled a glass of water, and slammed it down. "I know, but..."

"Look." I grabbed his chin, and turned his head to look down at me. "Don't worry your pretty little head about it. We'll figure it out like we always do."

He nodded and smirked. "You really think I'm pretty?"

I chuckled. "Shut up." I kissed him and then took his hand in mine. "Come on." I pulled him into the living room, where Sam and Bobby were questioning a demon named Redd.

"I got to tell you, Redd..." Bobby said. "For a filthy, lower-than-snake-spit Hell-spawn, you seem to have turned yourself into a damn fine hunter. I don't know whether to kill you or kiss you."

"Oh, please, kill me." Redd smirked.

Bobby nodded. "That was you that dug out that nest of vamps back in Swan Valley, wasn't it?"

"That was nice work," Sam said.

Redd smiled. "Eight of 'em in one go, roped and tied."

"And then you brought them to Crowley, right?" Bobby asked.

Redd chuckled. "Read the papers, redneck. The king is dead."

Bobby chuckled and tossed holy water at Redd, who burned and groaned in pain. "Crowley's alive. You prove it just by being. You poor, dumb jackass. Crowley's alive. His nets are still out." He shrugged. "Except now he's using you, schmucks, to hunt his monsters."

"Up yours." Redd gritted through his teeth.

Bobby extended his hand to Sam, who placed the demon blade in it. Dean then entered and motioned for Sam to speak to him privately.

Bobby returned his focus to Redd. "Redd... where's Crowley?" he asked but received no response. "No? Nothing? Oh, okay, then. Here, hang on to this for a bit." Bobby stabbed Redd in the leg with the knife, causing him to scream in pain. He turned to us. "Come on, you two." Then we followed him into the kitchen, where Sam and Dean were talking.

"So, what'd you tell him?" Sam asked.

Dean shook his head. "Nothing. Just relax."

Bobby shrugged. "What's the hubbub?"

"I saw Cass. He popped in on me about two hours back," Dean said.

"What'd you tell him?" Bobby, Nate, and I all asked at the same time.

"Nothing, all right?" Dean shook his head, irritated. "Told him we were on some crap monster hunt. He doesn't know that we're getting close to Crowley." He sighed. "You know, he's our friend... and we are lying to him through our teeth."

Sam shook his head. "Dean..."

"So, he burned the wrong bones," Dean interrupted. "So, Crowley tricked him."

"He's an angel," Bobby said.

Dean shook his head. "He is the Balki Bartokomous of Heaven! He can make a mistake!"
