Chapter Twenty-Five: The Devil's spawn...
Anton stared at his cousin of the same age in shock. He was here, right in front of Anton in his uniform and head held high as if he was the superior one. Danny looked exactly like Daniel in his younger years of life, however, Danny did not uphold his father's lust of blood.
No... Danny inherited other devious behavior that make Anton question on how his cousin became an British officer, even though his father is of French descent. Although his mother on the other hand is as British as they come.
"Anton," Danny said his name with a devious smirk upon his face, that was oddly his natural appearance. "'Tis not good to gawk. Let me in." It was a form of command in his voice.
Anton looked away immediately as if he was staring directly at the sun. Clearing his throat, Anton lead the way towards his home; which he wished held his love. However his love was awake and waiting for him to return home.
Sandra stood to her feet as soon as she heard the old wooden door open and the gush of warm evening air hit her exposed arms and legs. She held a huge smile upon her face, that soon disappeared once she saw their unexpected guest. "Oh," she said in shock before wrapping herself with an nearby wool blanket.
Anton stopped immediately once he saw Sandra and her attire, Danny, however was not shock at all- he was pleased from the unexpected greeting. "Sandra-"
"Sandra? Your loving wife?" Danny stepped towards Sandra, but stopped halfway seeing that it was very inappropriate to step to a married woman without their husbands permission. "Lovely,"
Anton stride towards Sandra and stood slightly in front of her to cover her body from Danny's preying eyes. "Sandra how about you get dress and come back down," Anton suggested.
Sandra nods her head before scurrying off up the steps to their bed area. As she ran off, Danny started to slowly walk around their small home; which was not as impressive to him. "Suitable, what did you do? Fix it yourself?" He teased while giving his cousin his full attention.
"Why are you here, Danny?" Anton asked bluntly, not wanting to go along with his devious cousin plans. "I do not have anything for you to prey on,"
Danny once again, showed his natural devious smile that he formed ever since he was a wee baby. "I am here to see my only cousin and his wife, since I had to hear from pirates that you are settled down with a lovely woman, in a barn house. I did not even get invited to the ceremony, oh Anton, how can you treat me in such...isolation?"
Anton gritted his teeth while trying to hold back many inappropriate words that would disrespect his ancestors as well. "Isolation is not the word I would use, cousin. You want something from me, I do not have time to play your games and be apart of your tricks."
"Oh cousin, tricks and games are for children. I simply want a favor from you." Danny reached into his pocket to retrieve a dingy handkerchief with odd writing on it. "I need you to translate."
Of course, not trusting the trickster; Anton eyed Danny while taking the thin and dingy cloth out of his oddly clean and soft hands. Anton eyes scanned over the chicken scratch, studying the words and the form of writing.
"The writing is in Portuguese." Danny spoke up.
"Also in French, Germanic, Latin and English. I only can read three out of those languages."
"But, you can speak it- such languages?"
"Aye, why?" Anton questioned.
Danny sighed before snatching the dingy handkerchief out of Anton's rough hands. "For traveling reasons, nothing for you to worry about." He stuffed the handkerchief inside his jacket, so it was secure and isolated to the world.
