Phil's pov

I blink and blink. I don't think of anything anymore. Was I a hero or a failure? I never did anything or witnessed anything like this before.

I was in shock, I couldn't grasp any single reason to think. What did I just do?

I felt cold, all of a sudden. I felt my knees weak and jelly-like. I fell down beside the boy. But he didn't look at me.

All my sweat and the water of the raging river clashed towards me. I blinked and blinked again. I blinked repeatedly, looking down at my cold, but pale hands. My hands were always pale, but right now it was at the whitest shade it could ever reach.

Was I a hero?

I kept thinking about what I did. No one was here, except for the two of us. I didn't even know who I saved. But I felt a shock between both of us. Then I look at him and he looks at me.

We both share a shock, yet we both share no emotion. We both were pale and unsure of what to do by now.

After the wind clears my trembling body and the foggy mist of the raging river calms to a settle pattern, I can see the boy, clearly. I see Dan Howell.
