It was the early morning.

The sun beating down on Monae's bare skin woke her up. She slowly sat up in bed and rubbed her eyes. She then looked down at the familiar lacy sheets.

Reality eased into her mind as she recalled what took place last night. Her body flushed in heat and she gazed over at her empty side. Shouldn't Blaine be beside her?

She eventually forced herself to get out of bed. Which was a bad idea considering the fact that her body hadn't recovered.

Her feet touched the floor and a shock of pain paralyzed her body as she fell to the floor with a thud. It was loud enough to alert Amelia as she rushed in yelling, "Monae?!"

Monae looked up from the floor and Amelia gasped hurrying to her aid, "Monae! Are you okay? You shouldn't be out of bed-" "-I'm fine." stubborn Monae protested trying to get back in bed. "Monae let me help-" Amelia insisted but Monae denied her help, "-I'm fine."

Amelia then withdrew but she knew there was something wrong with her. Monae managed to get herself back under the sheets of the bed. "What's on your mind?" Amelia took it upon herself to ask Monae. She only got a shrug in response, "Nothing." Monae said then she decided upon herself that she'd ask what was on her mind, "Where's Blaine?"

Amelia looked a bit nervous once the question was asked. She straightened her stance and cleared her throat, "Work."

Monae rose a brow and she nods her head, "It's the truth. She is working."

Monae didn't believe her the second those words left her mouth. "Oh... alright," she still responded and she watched Amelia's body relax where she stood. "Would you like some breakfast?"

Monae politely declined and turned around onto her side, "I'm going back to sleep." Amelia knew it wasn't her place to question Monae any further. "Rest well," she insisted before she left the moody girl alone in the spacious room.

Monae adjusted the pillow underneath her head as her thoughts slowly consumed her mind. She thought it was suspect of Blaine to just up and leave. Monae soon fell asleep from exhaustion.

--

Blaine walked into the room soon after Monae had dozed off. She approached the sleeping beauty and brushed her mane from her face. The sight of her beauty made Blaine feel better. She had a rough morning dealing with both her rivals and the police on her case but she had everything under control.
