Unexpected

Chapter 1

It was a lovely day in magnolia, the sun was shining and the sky was clear, not a cloud to be seen. A certain raven haired male was sitting on his couch in his small apartment that felt a bit too big now.

Gray had once shared this apartment with someone who he cared for deeply, someone who equaled the love he gave, that is until the day Gray screwed up and that person was gone forever, the ice mage didn't even know if they were still alive, and he remembers this day as clear as a cloudless sky.

-Flash Back-

Natsu was out on a job with Happy trying to figure out how to change Natsu back to normal after being turned into a girl, and Gray was home, the ice mage decided to do a little house work and go to the market to get some groceries, which they were in need of, especially with the dragon slayer's appetite. Gray headed out to the market and picked up everything he needed but as he was leaving he passed a liquor cart and made a last minute decision to pick up some bottles of beer.  

Natsu actually hated it when Gray drank because he usually drank himself drunk and then started acting like a total asshole, but Natsu's not here, is he?

Gray headed back to the apartment, unlocked his door and stripped his shoes before heading to the kitchen to pack away what he bought. He then opened a bottle of beer and began cleaning. By the time he finished it was a wonder that he actually finished at all due to him being so drunk he could barely stand up for more that a minute.

Gray sat at the table and layed his head down on it, and at the exact moment Gray's head hit the table Natsu walked through the door only to be met with the strong sense of cleaning supplies and booze. The scent was almost too much for the dragon slayer's sensitive nose to handle but it didn't stop 'her' from marching up to the raven sitting at the table with his eyes closed. 

"GRAY FULLBUSTER!"

Gray jolted up off the seat only to land on the floor and spill the beer he was holding all over the floor and partly on his pants. "What the hell Natsu!" 

"YOU'RE FREAKING DRUNK!!" Natsu shouted as 'she' snatched up the bottle that was still in Gray's hand. 

Gray stood up and snatched the bottle back. "DON'T TOUCH MY BEER!" 

'And cue asshole mode' Natsu thought as 'she' glared at the ice mage. Natsu grabbed for the rest of the bottles to throw them away only to have 'her' hand slapped by Gray. "I SAID DON'T FRICKIN' TOUCH IT!! IF YOU TOUCH IT AGAIN I WANT YOU OUT OF MY HOUSE, AND WE WILL BE THROUGH!" 

Natsu stood there looking shocked and pissed off. "What?"

"Oh so now you're deaf, I said.." 

Natsu cut the ice mage off and shouted "FINE! YOU DON'T WANT ME HERE I'LL JUST LEAVE NOW!!!" the fire mage stomped up the stairs and started packing 'her' stuff. Gray had followed 'her' and grabbed 'her' by 'her' arm as the fire mage dragged a suitcase onto the bed. 

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?" 

"I'm leaving just like you wanted, ice bastard." Natsu's voice leaked venom as he spoke. "I'm done." 'she' finished packing 'her' suitcase and walked to the door with Gray following behind. "Have a nice life Gray." and then she/he was gone, never to be heard from again. 

Gray stood there for a a nice few minutes before what had just happened dawned on him. He dropped to his knees and sobbed like a little baby for a good couple hours. 

Natsu even left the Guild the next day.

-End of Flash Back-

Gray had started to cry a little again from the memory but stopped himself. 'There's no use crying anymore, he's not coming back' Gray thought to himself as he went upstairs to get dressed.
