Unexpected

Christmas Special!

Christmas just so happened to be a certain fire mage's favorite holiday! He always became an even bigger bundle of happiness everytime Christmas came near. He told himself that this year would be the year that he confessed his feelings to the one he loved.

It was Christmas Eve and Natsu had been out doing some last minute Christmas shopping, he wanted to find the perfect gift for someone but he has yet to come across anything special enough.

After what seemed like hours of walking around and feeling like he should just give up he came across something that was perfect! The dragon slayer quickly paid for the item as well as a small gift bag, then he raced back home to wrap it up. He made it back to his house and noticed that Happy was sleeping on the couch so he left him be and went to his room to wrap up the small gift, he wrapped it up in tissue paper and stuck it inside the gift bag and then he wrote a name on the tag.

The next morning came around and Natsu nearly jumped out of his bed from excitement, he grabbed something to eat before going back to his room and getting dressed. Happy was still asleep on the couch so Natsu decided to wake him up. The dragon slayer gently shook the sleeping exceed "Hey Happy, Wake up." 

Happy stirred and sat up yawning "What is it Natsu?" 

"Merry Christmas little buddy!" Natsu handed him a fish with a ribbon tied into a bow wrapped around it. 

Happy was now fully awake and looking at Natsu who he now realized was wearing a Santa hat and holding the fish out to him with a big smile on his face. 

"Yummy fish!" He grabbed the fish and hugged it "Thank you!" but then it dawned on him and he frowned. "Natsu! I'm sorry! I don't have anything for you!" His eyes started to water.

Natsu placed a hand on his head and pet him "Don't worry about it! Hey c'mon lets head to the guild!" the dragon slayer picked up a bag that held gifts for his friends. 

"Okay.." 

Both Happy and Natsu set out to go to the guild, once they were standing outside the doors, Natsu reached into his jacket and pulled out a small flower. "Hey Happy, here, give this to Carla, I know you wanted to get her a gift this year" He smiled and handed the flower to Happy who took it happily saying thank you. 

They both entered the guild with Happy making his way over to Carla and Natsu heading over to the table that held Erza, Lucy, and Gray. Natsu plopped down next to the ice mage and smiled. "Merry Christmas!" 

"Merry Christmas to you too Natsu!" Lucy spoke cheerily 

Gray smiled slightly and said Merry Christmas while Erza said it almost as cheerfully as Lucy, Erza had on a red dress and that looked like a Santa Suit, she also had on a Santa hat with over the knee black boots. Lucy's outfit was very similar except a bit more revealing and she had reindeer antlers on her head instead of a Santa hat, Gray's outfit was just his regular clothes except for one difference, he was actually wearing a Santa hat. 

Natsu caught himself staring at Gray for much longer than he intended to, and he was caught by Gray, Natsu blushed and looked away fast.

"What's up with you today ash breath?" Gray asked confused with the odd behavior he just seen. 

"Nothing popsicle, I'm just excited it's Christmas!" Natsu shrugged away the blush and was now beaming with excitement once again. 

Gray just shook his head and looked away. Natsu stood up and grabbed the bag he brought in, he wandered around the guild handing everyone a present before stopping once again at his table and handed each of them a gift, all except Gray. 

Lucy opened her gift to find a journal and a pen for her to write stories with, she smiled and hugged Natsu "Thank you!" 

Erza opened hers next to find a box which held a strawberry cake, her eyes sparkled as she stared at the piece of heaven in front of her, she thanked Natsu and soon cut a piece to eat. 

Natsu took a glance at Gray and noticed he seemed a bit disappointed that he didn't receive one. The fire mage grabbed Gray's arm and dragged him over to a corner in the guild, away from everyone's line of vision. 

"what are you doing flame head!?" Gray questioned as he was dragged into a corner. 

"Um..I wanted to give you your gift here." Natsu fiddled with his coat. That did not go unnoticed by the ice mage and he was about to question the dragon slayer but he was cut off by Natsu shoving a gift bag at him. Gray eyed the bag before opening it.

Gray had a shocked expression as he opened his gift but then he smiled so happily it made Natsu's heart flutter. Inside the bag was an ornament that Natsu had caught Gray admiring once when he seen Gray standing outside a shop window, it was of a snowflake but it was made out of crystal to make it look like Ice, It even had a tint of blue to it. Natsu had forgotten about The ornament until he came across it last night, so he had to have it for Gray.

Gray hugged Natsu fairly tightly and the fire mage was taken aback by the sudden contact that he didn't even have time to hug him back before Gray let go once again. "Thanks squinty eyes!" Gray was still beaming that Natsu didn't even care about the little nickname, he just smiled at Gray's happiness. 

"Oh! Here" Gray pulled a box out from inside his jacket and handed it to the dragon slayer. 

Natsu opened the box and smiled, inside the box was a red dragon ornament. "Thanks Gray!" he looked up at the ice mage and gave him his signature grin. 

Both mages walked back out to the main part of the guild but they didn't realize that they stopped right underneath the mistletoe, although a certain silver haired she devil did. "Gray! Natsu! look up!" She smiled mischievously.

Gray and Natsu both looked up and then blush deeply. "We are standing..." 

"Under the mistletoe" Natsu finished.

The fire mage took a deep breath as he realized that everyone was staring at them, he grabbed a hold of Gray's cheeks and pulled his face down to his and gently kissed his lips. Cheers were heard all over the guild along with a few whistles. Gray's eyes widened with shock, it took a while but he eventually closed his eyes and kissed him back while wrapping his arms around Natsu's torso. 

Gray secretly had feelings for the fire mage and from this kiss he could easily tell that Natsu did too. Natsu was shocked as well when Gray responded to the kiss by kissing back and holding him so when they parted he looked at the ice mage with wide eyes but Gray just smiled and whispered in Natsu's ear "I like you baka." 

Natsu turned the color of Erza's hair but he still smiled and said "I like you too Gray, Merry Christmas!" 

Gray pecked his lips once more before both he and Natsu joined in on the party that had started around them.

AN- Hey everyone! I hope you're not disappointed that this is not an update on the actual story but I had this Idea in my head and just decided to writ it here!

I also want to announce that I have made some changes to the first two chapters and fixed something considering I thought of something different I should have done with this story and also I want to announce a small contest if you're interested! 

I'm having trouble coming up with an idea for the next chapter for the original story plot and I would like to hold a contest for you to write a chapter for me and I will pick who the winner will be by picking the chapter I liked best. 

The last chapter ended with Gray saying he will think of a way to teach Silver without giving him the stripping problem he has himself! so if the new chapter you create can be around that, you'd have a greater chance in winning!
