Movies; chapter five

The car was moving in the rain, across the hill. Still, nothing seems wrong. Lapis was chatting with her older sister, Amber. Amber was 17, she was the one driving. Lapis sat in the passenger seat, laughing at a joke her big sister had just cracked. Suddenly, a car swerved in front of them, and Amber tried to avoid it, but it hit them off the side of the ledge. Lapis screamed and cried as Ambers head cracked against the steering wheel and everything went black as lapis heard an ear piercing thud.
Lapis bolted upright, in a cold sweat, breathing heavily. She didn't want to remember. She just didn't want it. It had been two years. Shes 15 now. She can have a fresh start, with her best friend, peridot. A small part of her wanted it to be more that best friends.
Lapis sighed and trudged to the bath room to soak in a bubble bath. She actually had lots of bubble baths, bath bombs, and rubber ducks. She liked those since she was four. She somehow never grew out of them and water never failed to calm her nerves. She OCD, ptsd, and depression, and minor insomnia due to her moderate amount of nightmares . She knew that the only two things that calmed her could be water, and Peri. But she didn't want to be a burden.. so there she was, soaking in a " cherry luxury " bubble bath.
She got up around a half hour later and dried herself with a towel. She put on pjs and a hoodie . It was getting close to Christmas. It was the second or third day of winter break.
She snuggled back into her blue sheets and her fluffy blankets. She fell asleep into a peaceful dream about night vale. ( author references, go listen to that amazing podcast.)
At 2, she was awoken again by peridot, who lapis forced into the bed for cuddles. Peri had a faint pink tint to her Cheeks as lapis cradled her smol body. ( PERIDOT IS SMOL AS HELL.)
Soon, peri managed to drag lappy's laptop into the bed to watch a movie. She scrolled through lapis's I tunes, it was mostly music. The only movies she could find were; " Aladdin, " and , " The truth about Jane."
Peri had never seen the Jane one so she clicked on it and began watching.
" You do know this movie is about a lesbian, right? " lapis asked her .
" Makes it even better."
They both laughed and spent the rest of the movie being critics .
