After a night, I could have said the room was nice and that the bed was very comfortabele. But something, or more likely everything, felt wrong and out of place.
When being in this room, I could almost forget everything that was going on behind the wooden that was blocking me from the outside world.
I sat down on the bed, that was clearly made for two people, plus a giant man and a goat, and ran my hands through my almost black hair.
Soon I had to get in contact with the rest of the team. But for now I couldn't afford to draw any unwanted attention towards me or the others.
After escorting me to my room, the man, whom I still didn't know the name from, told me he would come and get me in the morning.
But I had been sitting in the room for hours now, and he still hadn't come to get me.
I already knew the door wasn't locked, I had tried that before But the voice in my head had told me it was better to stay inside, or at least that was what I thought two hours ago.
As for now, I was getting hungry and needed some food to keep my from feeling sick. I couldn't afford to be weakened, not in this situation.
My legs felt wobly when I stood up, and I had to grab the desk to prevent myself from falling. Even before I reached the door, I was out of breath from the lack of energy.
The last time I had eaten was yesterday morning, before we let them take us captive. That had been more than 24 hours ago, since I guessed it was around eleven in the morning at this moment.
The man had only offered me something to drink before leaving me alone in the room. And I didn't dare to ask for food or anything else back then.
A dizziness made me fall against the door, sliding down until I was sitting on the cold, hard ground. My vision became blurry and my thoughts drifted away into a flashback.
'Could you two please stop acting like children? You make me feel like a mother.'
The suddenness of the other female voice made me shiver, forgetting everything I was thinking about.
And it even made me forget the fact I was fighting against Alexander's grip.
'Is that even a serious question, little one?' Alexander grinned at his sister with the same twinkle in his eyes as you could see in her green eyes.
'Obviously not, now let go of her.' She put her hands on her hips, waiting for her brother to release his grip on me.
Eventually Alexander let go of my body, but not before he rubbed his armpits against my shoulders.
'You nasty animal!' I screamed at him while he left the room laughing like a hyena.
I snapped back into reality when I felt the wooden door push against my back.
'Evelyn? What is blocking the door?'
'Me.' I grunted whilst dragging my own body weight away from the door.
The door opened, revealing the man
who had escorted me to my room the night before and the one who had to
come and get me this morning, but never came.'Why are you lying on the floor?' He kneeled down in front me and took my hand in his, clearly checking my pulse.
The touch made me feel something that could only be described as little fireworks.
'Because it's more comfortabele than a bed? I fell, what else could be the explanation.' I snapped at him, avoiding eye contact in all possible ways.
