'I need you to pack some clothes.' Aiden sat behind his desk.

He had been reading through documents for two hours now. I sat in the corner of the office with a book.

'Why? Are we going somewhere? How long will we be gone for?'

'We will be away for as long as needed,' He simply stated without giving any more information.

'Do I really have to go too?'

'Yes Evelyn,' He sighed as he finally looked up from the papers, 'It is part of the deal we made. Or did you forget that already?'

I watched him as he unbuttoned his dark grey jacket, without taking his eyes of me.

'No, I did not forget the agreement.' He nodded before getting back to work.

I pulled my legs up onto the edge of the armchair and rested my book on top of my knees.

Somehow during the two hours we had been in the office, I had managed to convince him to let me open the curtains a little bit.

The gap was just big enough for the sun to peek through. It gave me the feeling of being outside.

A week had passed since the incident where I interrupted his meeting. We never talked about it, but I knew he was still mad.

I had ashamed him that day in front of a couple of very powerful vampires. And I knew I shouldn't feel bad for him, yet I did feel very sorry.

I sighed softly before picking up my book, but I couldn't concentrate on reading.

I kept thinking about the conversation we had earlier this morning.

'Evelyn, great timing,' The Prince greeted me as I entered the office, 'I want you to donate some blood.'

'You want to drink from me?' I started panicking as I didn't know what to do.

Not once since the agreement we made a week earlier, he had suggested on drinking from me.

This would be the first time and I didn't know what to expect.

But he shook his head whilst picking up a small glass tube from his desk.

'I want to test your blood first,' He gave me the little tube, 'before I drink from you in the future.'

'Why?' I clenched the small thing inside my hands, 'Do you think I have some kind of disease?'

I instantly felt bad thinking about the things he might think about me. What if he was disgusted by me?

Would that be a good or a bad thing?

After that he had showed me how to draw my own blood with a small syringe. I felt strange, but it wasn't something I was afraid of doing.

I asked him how he was going to test the blood, but he never answered that question. He had only grunted before walking to his desk.

That was two hours ago, and now we were sitting in silence. Or that was until he dropped the bombshell that we were going out today.

'Aiden?'

'Yes?' He kept looking at his paper but I could see the a touch of disbelief on his face when I adressed him directly.

'Will we be travelling alone?'

'What do you mean?'

'Will there be other people accompanying us where we are going?'

By now I'd placed the book on the coffee table next to the armchair.
