The days passed smoothly as the three women transitioned into living together without buffers like Rose, Normani and Dinah to help guide them. Well, except when it came to Lauren's sponge baths.
That was something that was annoying Camila to no end.
When it came time for Lauren's sponge bath the second night the injured woman moved in, she was frustrated that Lauren had Normani drop by to help her, not wanting to 'overwhelm Camila with all she was already doing, especially since Normani was a nurse.'
To say Camila was frustrated, was an understatement. She eventually decided Lauren would eventually trust her with the private matter when she was ready, and she wouldn't rush her. But as days turned into a week, Camila was at her wits end. Everyone was helping Lauren in that department except her and Leah.
Leah she could understand, wanting to spare their daughter the sight of Lauren's many injuries, past and present. But why deny Camila?
Did she not trust her?
Camila tried being patient, but after Lauren had Lucy help her, she nearly took Lauren's head off in offense.
She had been simmering for days, and decided to talk to Lauren about it, but to do that she needed to talk to her alone, and while she loved her daughter, she knew the teen would be stubborn about picking a fight with Lauren.
So she did the responsible thing, and asked Rose if Leah could stay the night at their house, hoping to solve the argument by the time she got back the next day. Leah, God bless her, was excited about seeing her nephew and really spending time with her grandparents, that she didn't even question the sudden idea her mother sprang on her.
So, while Lauren was napping, Camila packed up Leah's overnight bag, and made her write a note for her mother when she woke up so she didn't worry, and had Ally drive her over while she started a snack to help ease Lauren into a good day, hoping for a positive reaction to the news. She also called Normani and demanded she not come to help Lauren, and told the nurse to pass the message to everyone else, saying she was more than capable of helping Lauren with this.
When Lauren woke up, Camila nearly bounced into the room not even two minutes later with specially made oreo's and a cup of milk. She thought Lauren would be excited since she opened each cookie and smeared a nice helping of Nutella on the white cream, making it an extra special treat.
Lauren tiredly blinked in surprise as Camila entered the room with a tray of snacks, beaming a smile at her that made the woman wonder if Camila had been sniffing something toxic while she had been asleep.
"You okay Camila?" Lauren mumbled sleepily.
"Oh absolutely! I made you a snack, and Leah sleeping at your parents, do you want milk or juice with them? I can run down and get you juice, but I love them with milk. You can be weird with your food choices though so I'd thought I'd ask. Do you want me to turn on the TV so you can watch law and order or something? I know how you like to point out all the ways the producers are stupid....." Camila rambled nervously, trying to distract Lauren from what she knew the woman was bound to notice soon.
Lauren cut her off as she carefully sat up against the pillows on her bed eyeing Camila suspiciously. The stare she was giving Camila made the chef squirm uncomfortably. If this was how Lauren looked at people she was prosecuting, she never wanted to be on the witness stand for her to cross exam. Those green eyes penetrated her so seriously, it was making Camila's heart race.
"What was that about Leah going to my parent's house? Why? Is something wrong with her? Or them? Why didn't she say goodbye? She could have woken me up." Lauren asked curiously, not upset but suspicious with how nervous Camila was fidgeting.
