When Lauren and Leah had woken up a few hours later, they were surprised to see most of their family spread out around the room, either on the sofa, chairs or the extra bed, quietly talking amongst themselves. Leah was surprised to see Sofie talking quietly to her sister, while Taylor and Chris were watching the TV on mute so they didn't disturb anyone.

Lauren noticed her mother's, Clara and Rose were sitting next to each other, quietly sleeping in their chairs by Lauren's bed, and she couldn't help but smile to herself.

When Normani noticed them both awake, she tapped Dinah's shoulders, waking her up from her nap she was taking. She blinked tiredly, and then blushed when she noticed her head was resting in Normani's lap, a little too closely than she would have liked, knowing that the others were snickering at both the blushing women's faces.

Recovering from her embarrassing moment, Dinah stood up, brushing the wrinkles from her detectives outfit, ignoring the many smiles thrown her way and approached Lauren slowly.

"It's about time you woke up, I've been waiting forever." Dinah sighed, moving to the empty chair across from the two sleeping mothers.

Rolling her eyes, Lauren rasped out, "I'm sorry being stabbed in the side was an inconvenience for you. I'll try to almost die next time with more consideration."

"Mom that isn't funny. There can't be a next time." Leah mumbled tearfully, honestly terrified of there being a next time.

Feeling guilty, Lauren shot Dinah a glare, before guiltily giving her daughter a soft look saying, "I'm sorry honest it was a joke said in poor taste. There will be no next time."

Leah nodded, sniffling quietly with a smile when her mother kissed her head in reassurance.

"Sorry Leah." Dinah mumbled also, looking away from the look Normani had also given her.

"it's okay. I guess I'm just sensitive." The teen muttered, blushing slightly as she moved off the bed, stretching her arms with a sigh.

"Are you hungry? I can get you something from the cafeteria." Camila whispered quietly, making sure not to wake up the two sleeping mothers.

Nodding, Leah replied, "Yeah, I was about to go there. I think Dinah wants to talk to mom. I figured it would be easier for her if I wasn't here."

Camila was torn, both wanting to comfort Leah and hearing what had happened between Lauren and Brad, but she was saved from having to decide when Sofie jumped up from the chair she was in and volunteered to go with her. Camila sighed in relief, and smiled at the two as they left. If anyone could make Leah smile, it was definitely her sister.

Lauren was about to open her mouth and start her tale, when there was a knock on the door, a doctor and nurse entering the room with smiles.

"Ah you're awake. Excellent. My name is Quinn and I was your surgeon. This is nurse Adams. She'll be helping you with your recovery. I need to check your stitches, and go through some tests before the police start questioning you if that's okay? Do we need to clear the room?" The blonde doctor asked cautiously.

Lauren nodded, saying, "They can stay. So what all is wrong with me?"

The doctor moved over and started checking Lauren's stitches as she answered, " You have a hair line fracture in your shoulder, and your knee and ankles are extremely sprained. You have a few cracks in your left leg and right arm but we fixed all as much as we could during your surgery. Time will heal the rest. You have bruises covering at least three quarters of your body, which I'm sure is painful in itself, and you bruised the bone in your jaw. Basically, you'll be staying with us for a while. Maybe a couple weeks, at least until one or two of your sprains are healed. We want you to have at least some mobility, no matter how limited that is. I won't even think about releasing you unless you have twenty hour care. It's going to be a few months before your completely healed, and you'll need physical therapy for your knee and shoulder as it is. You're very lucky to be alive Miss Jauregui. I would like to keep it that way." The doctor smirked, noticing Lauren's defiant expression when she heard about needing to stay, and practically needing a home nurse.
