Chapter 25

--- PRINCETON POV --

She came running at me so fast I didn't know what to do so instantly my instincts kicked in, I used my vamp speed and ran to the other side of the field. YN turned round to face me with a stone cold expression on her face, I ran towards her. As I did I tried to read her mind, to see what her next move was but no luck her mind was blank. Before I could do anything she scissor kicked me in the face and I was down, the world was spinning, I tried to get up but she continued to punch me in the face. Man she packs a mean punch. Get her off you. I kept telling myself.

Suddenly I felt strong, I could do this. I double kicked her off me and she fell to the ground. I tried to be nice. I got up but almost simultaneously, she jumped up and tackled me to the floor and was punching me again c'mon prince not again but this time the punches were ice cold, my face was starting to go numb. I pushed her off me again. I stood up quicker than I did before. But this time she didn't come running at me she stood there perfectly still staring into the ground. I heard some of my team mates telling me that this was my chance to get her but I didn't listen to them. Then all of a sudden the ground started shaking. As I looked down I saw black roots emerging from the ground, it took me only a few seconds to notice that they were coming straight at me. Oh no.. I ran out of the way just in time, but I felt a sharp pain in my foot-one of them had very narrowly missed me.

Before I could go for YN. I felt long ropes wrapping around my legs anchoring me to the ground. I couldn't move. I looked over at YN with desperation but she was looking down with her hands clenched. I tried so hard to get myself out of the roots but I didn't budge, the roots just got tighter and tighter, I could feel my feet starting to go numb. I tried so hard to fight off the other roots that where going for my hands, I ripped them, punched them. I did all I could to stop them from grabbing me. I started to get really tired. I looked desperately over at Steve and spoke in his mind,

Steve I can't do it

*Yes you can*

I cant! I'm so tired

*Do you remember one of private lessons we had for studying your power?*

What does that gotta do with winning?

I was getting so weak, I couldn't manage to fight any of the roots away, before I knew it they had tied up my hands behind my back, they began to lift me off the ground, which helped because I don't think I had any strength left in my body anyway. You would think that once I was caught the roots would stop coming at me but no - more and more roots kept coming from the ground wrapping themselves around me and getting tighter and tighter. C'mon Princeton focus!! I calmed myself down and began to focus on my goal. I kept on looking at YN. Trying as hard as I could to get into her head. NO LUCK. I tried again NO LUCK it was getting frustrating because the roots were getting even tighter than before and I was finding it hard to breathe. I closed my eyes and all I could see was black dots. It felt like I was in someones head. I just assumed that I was in YN's head. So I began the mind control.

Release the roots...Release the roots, I kept repeating in my head or rather her head. It took a while for it to take affect but, I felt the roots loosening and removing themselves from me. I opened my eyes. I was back in my mind. I grabbed the remaining roots off me, and throw them to the ground, away from me only then did I realize I was still floating in mid-air. As if someone heard me think that, I dropped to the ground and saw that YN was lying on the ground. I ran as fast as my legs allowed me to check if she was okay. I know she tried to get every last breath out of me but I still cared about her. I knelt besides her body, took off my jacket and placed it under her head.
