You were outside, shivering slightly. "How did this happen again?" You asked yourself out loud. You sighed.
Again, you had come to enjoy the debate. Again, they "ran out of seats".
You sat in the gazebo again, sighing."Ma'am, would you like to come inside?" You turned to see the man from before. Not the curly-haired Jefferson, but the one with him. You smiled, nodding. "That'd be lovely, sir." You stood, curtsying slightly towards the man. "Thank you."
The man smiled, nodding slightly. "Anything for a kind lady." He offered you his arm, which you took happily.
"My name is James Madison, but you can call me James if you'd like. You're (Y/N), right?"
You nodded. "That's me! I can't believe you remembered..."
"Why, I try my best." James chuckled, smiling. He reached for the door, holding it open. You happily walked in, waiting for him and taking his arm again. James began leading you towards another door, except this one was much larger. "This is the Debate Hall. I'll apologize ahead of time." He cleared his throat. "I, James Madison, hereby apologize to you, (Y/N) (L/N), for any and all things said in this debate." He chuckled. "The boys get rowdy sometimes." You smiled, giggling slightly. "It'll be alright. I'm quite excited!" James opened the door, leading you inside the Debate Hall. You looked around in awe. The room was much bigger than you thought. You grinned, looking for your brother in the crowd. You waved at him, smiling. (B/N), your brother, waved back happily. James nodded towards you and led you to a seat right near his own. You curtsied, thanking him in a whisper. He nodded again. "He nods a lot..." You thought. Your thoughts were interrupted as two men walked in.
One had poofy hair.
The other had non-poofy hair.
Both men had great hair.
You leaned forward in your seat, anticipation eating you from the inside-out. Thomas was walking towards you. You smiled a bit.
Thomas' eyes locked onto you. He smirked, sending a wink your way. Your face turned red and your eyes darted towards the other man. This had to be Alexander Hamilton. You'd only heard people describe him, but he looked like what you imagined. His dark hair was pulled back, and he had a proud air about him. You smiled, watching the debate begin.
---
You were laughing WAY too hard, considering the fact that you were in a debate. The two men argued back and forth like toddlers, and everyone was cracking up over it. Even James Madison was howling with laughter. It was so bad, in fact, that the debate was canceled. You wiped tears of laughter from your eyes, smiling. James led you out. You curtsied one last time, thanking him. "You're welcome, (Y/N)." He walked away."Why, what a pleasure to see you again!" A southern BOICE came from nowhere. You turned to see Jefferson smiling. You smiled back, looking into his dark eyes. "Why, Mr.Jefferson!" You giggled slightly. "You're so funny, sir! I couldn't see straight, you had me laughing so hard!" He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. "Why, thank you, Miss (Y/N)." He blushed, smirking slightly. "You look gorgeous, by the way." You blushed, grinning. "Thank you, sir!" You giggled. Thomas' eyes darted around. "Miss (Y/N)..?" "Yes?" "I know we've only talked twice, but...may I court you..?"
You blushed.
"Yes, of course!"
"Yay!" Thomas grinned, picking you up and twirling around. You had quite a bit of explaining to do when you got home...
