"(L/N)!"
"Coming, sir!"
You hurried towards General Washington, your boots clicking as you ran. You were (Y/N) (L/N), the General's right hand..woman. You knew it was wrong for a woman to fight, so you were a secretary. It took a lot of persuading, but the General finally gave in. (Let's pretend that happened. Okay? Okay.) Now you wrote letters, took notes, and that kind of thing. He didn't mind as long as you didn't do something completely stupid. You were pretty happy with your role, as you were constantly at the General's side. The General was very stern, but he also had a kind side. He sided with a pregnant woman, sending her husband home before she had her baby. That was his last secretary. Anyways, you enjoyed the General's company. He was commanding, logical, and maybe even..handsome. You couldn't like him like that, though, because it'd be weird and almost surely ruin your job. You tried not to think about it too much.

-------

War. Blood.
You feverishly jotted down notes on the war while taking cover. The sound of screams and weapons surrounded you amidst the warzone. Hurrying to the scene, you took cover and watched the barbaric war. Apparently, you didn't cover yourself as much as you'd thought, because you ended up with a bullet in your left shoulder. A scream of pain and agony shot out of you as you fell down.
----
You woke up breathing heavily. A man sat over you. His stubbly chin and dark hair interested you. "Ah, you're awake!" His calm voice made you smile a little. "General Washington will want to know about this. I'll be right back." He quickly left the room as you glanced around. Your bullet wound had been wrapped and cared for, and you were in a bed. Your clothing was the same as before, except your jacket had been removed. That was all you had time to notice before General Washington and the dark-haired man returned."Thank you, Hamilton. You may return now." The man smiled at the General before swiftly leaving.
Washington walked towards you slowly, his boots clicking softly. "(L/N)..." You knew what was coming. "My apologies, Gener-" "So you know how frightened I was for you?" You became confused. "Frightened, sir?" Washington nodded, sitting where Hamilton sat before. "I don't know what I would've done if it had been any worse.." He smiled at you and continued speaking. "I'm glad you're alright." You smiled at Washington, beaming. "Thank you, sir." The General stood up, sighing tiredly. "Well, I have things to do. Find me whenever you feel well-rested." With that, he swiftly missed your forehead and walked away.
Maybe the wound wasn't so bad.
