Today was the day.
Hercules was leaving.Tears streamed down your face as you waved goodbye to the love of your life. Your husband, Hercules Mulligan, was leaving for the war. "Maybe he'll learn something other than sewing..." You chuckled softly to yourself, trying to get your mind off of the image before you. It didn't work.
Tears continued to roll down your cheeks as you ran down the street, following the carriage sent by the General. You yelled after your husband, telling him how much you loved him. You ran until your legs gave out and you fell on the dusty dirt path. You didn't make an effort to stand. You knew you'd just fall again.
You watched in silence as the carriage ambled along the shabby path. You knew that Herc had always wanted to fight. He was just that kind of guy, sometimes. Nobody really knew what he was really like except you. Hercules was always up-front and open with you. You weren't sure if you could live without him. You'd be too lonely...
Lonely...
Wait.
An idea hopped into your mind as you stood and walked towards your friend Eliza's home. She was going through the same problem as you were. Her husband, Alexander Hamilton, left as well. Maybe you could stay with her until they came back so you wouldn't be lonely...You arrived at Eliza's home 10 minutes later. You knocked on the door, hoping for a response of any kind. Luckily, Eliza opened the door and happily invited you inside. "(Y/N)! I'm so glad to see you..."
"I can say the same, Eliza."
Tears welled up in both your and Eliza's eyes as you hugged each other. She led you to the living room as you both sat down.
"So...When did Hercules leave..?"
"He left around 15 minutes ago...God, I already miss him so much.."
"I know how you feel, (Y/N). Alexander left about two days ago, and I hate every second here without him...Besides..."
"Besides what?" Your curiosity peaked.
"Besides... I'm pregnant.."
Your eyes widened as you squealed, totally forgetting the previous conversation for a few moments. "MAMA 'LIZA'S HAVIN' A BABY!" You began shouting.
Eliza hurriedly shushed you.
"Nobody else knows except for you, me, and Angelica. Try to keep it secret for now..."
You nodded happily. Your smile slowly faded into a frown. "Wait...Alex doesn't know..?" Eliza shook her head sadly. "No...I didn't want to be the reason he didn't follow his dreams.."
You nodded again, this time in understanding. You tried to keep the topic in the air so you wouldn't begin crying. "Have you thought of names?" You smiled slightly. Eliza's smile returned. "Yes, actually. His name will be Philip, after my dad." You grinned at the sentiment. "That's so sweet! If I had a child, I think I'd probably name him Hercules Jr. or maybe something like Alex. Your husband's made a huge impact on not just my life, but my husband's as well." Eliza smiled.
"Yes. Alexander has had his rough patches here and there, but he always means well. He's such an amazing man, and he stands up for the right things."
"Eliza?"
"Yes?"
"Will you tell me how you two met..please?" You realized how stupid and childish you sounded, but Eliza didn't seem to mind. She smiled, and began recounting the story like an older sister might read to her younger counterpart.
"It was the Winter's Ball of 1780. My sisters and I waltzed along, finding ourselves surrounded by soldiers and men who wanted us for our social position. That's when he walked in." You giggled in a way that was somewhat schoolgirl-like. Eliza smirked.
"His name was Alexander Hamilton, and I needed to meet him. Now, (Y/N), you know I'm not one to try and be the center of attention. However, this night was different. I tried to catch his eye, not even knowing his name at the time. I mentioned him to Angelica and she hurried over towards him. I could've died."
"But you didn't! "
"Woah! How'd you know?!"
You laughed again.
"Angelica brought him over. We introduced ourselves and talked. That was it."
You smiled, sighing dreamily. "(Y/N), how did you meet Hercules?"
You chuckled softly to yourself and smiled.
"It was about a year and a half ago. I was walking to the usual sewing place to have the tailors stitch up some clothing I had with me. That's when a cute little shop caught my eye. It wasn't the name or outer appearance of the shop that attracted me. It was the man working on a piece in front that captured my eye."
Eliza began giggling happily. You smiled and continued.
"I walked towards the shop, noticing the tailor sign on the door. The man out front took notice and smiled at me. His dark skin and bright smile made me so much happier. He stuck his hand out, introducing himself as Hercules Mulligan. As I slowly took it, he raised my hand to his lips, kissing it softly. I promise you, my face has never been so red." Eliza grinned, smacking your arm lightly. "Oh, you flirty lil' mama, you!" She said, grinning from ear-to-ear. Your face brightened, blushing from embarrassment. "Shush! Do you want to hear the story or not?"
Eliza quickly hushed.
"Anyways..where was I..........OH! I've got it. Okay, so Herc kissed my hand. I swear, there were fireworks. After I recovered from my state of shock,-" Eliza giggled. "-I introduced myself. He complimented my appearance, as well as my name. He said it was a gorgeous name.
Hercules walked me inside, showing me around his small shop. I showed him the clothing I needed tailored and he stitched them up in a jiffy. It was very impressing, to be honest. He handed me my clothes, and without thinking, I ki-"
Your story was interrupted by a knock at the door. Eliza hurried to open it and began to weep at the sight before her. There stood Alexander, tears in eyes and arms in front of him. The two embraced, weeping tears of joy. "The General said we'd all come a week too early and sent us back."
Eliza grinned, being lifted and spun by her husband.
You smiled, knowing that Herc would be home soon.(HEY! I'm going to try to also have Part Three up tonight! Love you guys! ~Micro)
