Someone shook me awake. My eyes popped open and I looked over to see Amy.
"Oh...hey, Ames. What's up?"I asked, my voice raspy from sleep.
"I made dinner. Come eat. You've been asleep for a while."
I looked around. I was still in (Y/n)'s room. (Y/n) was still fast asleep in my arms.
I looked past Amy at the window. It was dark outside.
I didn't mean to sleep this late. I didn't mean to go to sleep in the first place.
I gently slipped away from (Y/n), standing and stretching.
"What time is it?"I yawned. "Um...around eight now,"Amy replied, walking to the door. I followed her.
When we made it downstairs, I went straight to the big pot on the stove. It was filled with savory smelling chicken noodle soup.
I grabbed a bowl from the cupboard and a ladle, emptying spoonfuls of the still hot soup into the bowl.
"Where's everyone else?"I asked, turning to face Amy, who was sitting at the marble cabinet with her eyes on the cabinet.
She looked up at me, her green eyes sparkling in the light. "In their rooms doing their own things. I wanted to call you down first because I wanted to talk."
"Oh...okay. What's on your mind?"
She sat up straight, looking me straight in the eyes.
"How's (Y/n)?"
Taken back by the question, I put my bowl down.
Amy has never really asked about (Y/n) before. Or talked to her.
"She's...still feeling sick from what I know. But I think she'll be okay,"I said. I went over to one of the drawers. After taking a spoon from it, I walked back over to my bowl.
"I see...how'd you two get so snuggled up?"she asked, now looking down at the cabinet again.
I see where this is going.
"She was very cold so she asked me to lay down with her. Is there a problem with that?"I asked, looking down at my soup.
Amy's mouth opened, but nothing came out. It looked like she was contemplating her next words.
"Shadow said you were on top of her earlier and she was half naked."
I groaned, stirring the soup with my spoon. "There's an explanation for that. Shadow just likes to leave out important details."
"Oh."
I looked up, narrowing my eyes at her. "She got dizzy when she was trying to change and got stuck. I tried to help her with her clothes when she passed out right then. I fell on top of her and in walked Shadow. Nothing happened."
"Hm. Likely story,"muttered Amy.
Oh my God.
"Look, Amy, I'm not going through this. Just because I'm nice to her, that doesn't mean I see her as anything more than a friend,"I sighed.
I'm such a fucking lair.
"Oh okay. Then why don't we snuggle in my bed? Or hold hands?"she asked.
"(Y/n) doesn't think of anything when we do that stuff. She just sees it as a friendly gesture. She's too innocent to know what it actually means,"I replied, picking up my bowl.
"Yeah? But you do, Sonic. You know exactly what it means,"Amy frowned. "Please stop. I don't like her like that. Just drop it. I'm going back upstairs,"I frowned back.
