"So why did you decide to spend your Christmas here Chels?" Lottie asked, kicking a pile of snow. "Well, my family actually decided to make plans without me this year, so i was on my own. Decided i could use a break away from reality" I shrugged, shoving my hands into my jacket pockets. "Being away from reality is nice" She smiled, her head dropping back, looking up at the sky. I smiled, nodding. I turned my head, looking down the driveway, a black jeep grand cherokee making its way towards the house. "But reality always finds its way back" I mumbled, making my way back towards the house. "I though no one knew you were here?" Lottie asked, jogging slightly to catch up with me. "No one does." I paused, looking at her confused.
I made my way in the house, dropping my coat onto couch. "Lou?" I yelled, looking down the hallway. "Yo?" He yelled back, his head popping out from one of the doorways. "Did you tell anyone we were here?" I asked, slowly making my way towards the front door. "No, I haven't turned my phone on since yesterday" He walked towards me, looking just as confused as i did. "Well, we have company" I mumbled, peering out the window beside the front door. The windows of the jeep were blacked out, so i couldn't see who was inside.
"They've been out there for half an hour now. Why has no one gotten out of the car?" Lottie asked, sitting on the windowsill in the lounge, looking out at the black Jeep. "I'm gunna go out there and see who it is" I walked over, grabbing my jacket and slipping it on. "But you don't know who it is" Louis said, walking over to stand beside Lottie. "Well. There's only one way to find out. It doesn't look like they're coming in so im going out" I shrugged, opening the front door. A shiver ran down my spine as i stepped out into the cold air, closing the door behind me. I slowly made my way down to the steps, looking over at Lottie and Lou standing in the window.
"Are you just gunna sit in your car, or are you gunna come out and show me who you are?" I yelled, staring at the car. My heart began to pound a little faster as three of the four doors opened, two familiar faces appearing from behind the doors. "Liam, Harry, Zayn" I smiled, pulling each of them into hug. "How did you find us?" I asked, smiling at them. "We have our ways." Zayn smiled, winking at me. "Plus, there's someone who wanted to see you" Harry smiled, looking behind him as the door opened. I looked at them confused, taking a step closer towards the car. My mouth dropped open, shaking my head.
"Wha...Whe..."I paused, shaking my head. "You're..." I stopped, taking a step back. "When did you.." I stopped once more, shaking my head. "Excuse me" I mumbled, turning on my feet, making my way towards the forest. "Chels" I heard from behind me, they were all yelling my name. I kept walking, my walk soon turning into a jog. I ran through the trees, stepping side to side as i dodged the roots. I stopped, catching my breath as i stood in an open snow covered field. I felt like i was suffocating. I took off my jacket, throwing it on the ground. I tried to calm my breathing, closing my eyes, the feeling of the snow landing on my face. Tears running down my face. Happy Tears, i think. Tears of relief.
I had been sitting in the field for about an hour or so now. The sun had long gone down and the stars were shinning. The cold air was blowing sending a cold shiver down my spine. I stood up, picking up my jacket, slipping it back on. I slowly made my way back through the house, carefully navigating my way through the dark. Another shiver ran down my spine as the house came into view, lighting up the path in front of me. I stopped on the edge of the woods, looking at the back porch. Lottie and Louis stood on the back porch, flashlights in hand. Harry, Liam and Zayn were making their way back in from separate sides of the forest, shaking their heads as they reached the back porch.
"There you are" I spun around, blinded by the flashlight. "We've been looking for you" He lowered his flashlight, half smiling at me. "Niall, i" I sighed, shaking my head. "It's okay. I get it. You were in shock. You weren't expecting to see me here, you thought i'd still be in a hospital bed" He shrugged, pointing his flashlight at the ground. "Niall. You were in hospital literally a week ago. I don't get how in one week, you woke up and were healed and okay to fly. You should still be hospital, what are you doing here?" I asked, folding my arms across my chest. "I know i should be. But the boys said that you were hiding away from reality and it was tough to find you and tell you that i had woken up, so i thought i would find you myself and show you that i am okay and you have nothing to worry about" He shrugged, smiling at me, "I'm okay".
