"Like an old guy with a beard who waves a wand about?"

(Y/N) shifted in her sleep, turning over to the other side of bed, reaching for the body there, only to find the covers cold and empty. Opening her eyes she saw her boyfriend of a year stood in the middle of the room tugging on his clothes. Reaching over for her clock, (Y/N) looked at the little luminous numbers. What was he doing up at midnight?

Sitting up slowly, (Y/N) put the clock back and swung her legs out of the bed, getting up and walking over to George, who was just in the process of buttoning up his shirt. "George? Where are you going?"

He spun around in shock, meeting the wide (e/c) eyes of his girlfriend. George started to walk towards (Y/N) who in turn, took a step back. "What's going on Georgie?"

He took a deep breath wondering how he was going to explain that he had to go to fight in a secret war, a war in which he could die. Letting out a sigh, he pulled up a chair and sat so he was in front of (Y/N) who was still staring at him in confusion. "I have to go somewhere. It's-it's an emergency and well... err... I might not come back."

(Y/N) raised an eyebrow as she felt tears beginning to pick in her eyes. "You're not telling me something George." She took a deep breath and let it out before continuing. "Look... I've known you've been hiding something from me from the moment we started dating and right now I've had enough. I want you to be completely truthful, no secrets, no matter how strange or hurtful that secret is."

George nodded, he was going to tell her everything then, he just hoped the truth didn't scare her away from him. She was the best thing that had happened to him. "Fine. Truth be told I'm not like you. I'm-I'm a wizard."

"What? Like an old guy with a beard who waves a wand about?"

Laughing a bit, George nodded. "Not exactly the old guy with a beard part but yes I do wave a wand about. Do you want to see?"

(Y/N) slowly nodded. "Just don't pull your wand out, Mr Weasley."

As he laughed, George sent her a reassuring smile then pulled out his wand from his jacket pocket and performed an easy Avifors charm causing (Y/N)'s clock to turn into a small little owl. A gasp was heard as the little clock owl flew around the room passing by (Y/N)'s eyes, which were open in amazement. George stood and walked over to her, placing a hand on her shoulder causing her to look up at him. "Do you believe me?"

(Y/N) nodded again before letting out a small laugh. "I don't have the imagination to make this up." Her face suddenly fell. "George, honestly, where were you going before I woke up?"

George eyes widened. He didn't want to tell her for fear that she would join him, a muggle like her stood no chance against Voldemort's death eaters, however not telling her would risk his relationship with her and he wasn't ready to do that. "I was going to go back to my old school. There is going to be a fight and well, they need all the help they can get to try and protect it and it's students."

(Y/N) nodded then her face set itself in a determined look. "Well I'm coming with you and before you start to tell me no, I can't let you go knowing that you could never come back. I'm going to fight by your side. I also know I don't have a wand but I can work around that."

"No (Y/N) I'm not letting you come. You're a muggle and that puts you in more danger than me. They would target you. They hate muggles, muggle borns and half-bloods. I'm not letting you risk yourself out there."

"Yes, you are George. I might be a 'muggle' but I can handle myself and a few-"

"No!" George calmed his voice and looked down at (Y/N), running his thumb across her cheek lovingly. "No." He leaned closer to her, his lips meeting her's, both of them relaxing into the kiss. It was perfect and George just wanted to freeze that moment in time for them. Pulling away slightly, he whispered three words against her lips before stepping completely away and apparating out of the room, listening to her shouts for him. "I'm so sorry."

"GEORGE!"

Tears fell down her cheeks as she stared at the spot her boyfriend was stood only a second ago. Her heart was pounding at the thought of him never coming back, never being able to hold him again, never being able to make ear related jokes. With a loud sob (Y/n)'s legs gave out from under her and she collapsed on the ground, her eyes blurry from her tears, her body shaking from the quiet sobs that wracked her body.

Taking a deep breath, (Y/N) calmed down and climbed back into her bed, curling up and hugging her pillow tight, muttering words of comfort to herself. "He will be okay. He did it for my safety. It will all be okay." With those words she drifted off to sleep, a tear slipping down her cheek.

George stood in the corner of the Great Hall away from the rest of his family and his twin's corpse. He just wanted to go back to (Y/N). He just wanted to go back to a time where everything was perfect. But he had to stay there, his family needed him. The school needed him. He was needed and he was going to keep on fighting. He fought for everything he loved. He fought for (Y/N).

It was all over. He could finally leave the place where the stench of death was so thick he was choking on it. George snuck away from his family once more and went to a remote part of the castle where he apparated back to (Y/N)'s house. He need to see her, to let her know that he was okay, to be with someone who didn't constantly remind him of Fred.

Opening his eyes, he looked at the sleeping form of his girlfriend, looking so peaceful. Smiling he took off his shoes and his, rubble covered, clothes before joining her under the covers, pulling her body against his, pressing a light kiss on her neck.

A quiet sleepy voice spoke up. "George? Is that you?"

"Yeah, its me. I'm back."

Suddenly something hit him in the face, that something being a pillow. "How dare you disappear like that George Weasley! You had me worried sick!" He voice suddenly became soft and sleepy again. "But I'm so glad you are here now unscathed."

He rolled his eyes at her worry as (Y/N) shifted her body so she was leaning over him and placed a sweet kiss on his lips that soon turned into a passionate make-out session. It washed away all the pain he was feeling so that all he could feel was the love for her. The love for (Y/N) (Y/L/N).
