"Beautiful"

A/N: This was requested by MideivalScorceress. I hope you enjoy. The video is the song I describe in the story and you can play it at any time. (In case the video doesn't work the song I was listening to when writing this was Nuvole Bianche)

Piano music echoed through the halls and Ron found himself following the sound to a room which he hadn't seen before, the door open a slight crack. Peering into the room he noticed a (h/c) girl sat at a piano, her fingers flying over the keys forming a beautiful song. Her blue Ravenclaw robes hung over the edge of the stool and Ron couldn't help himself but stare. The music was entrancing and the way she played made it look magical.

A quiet cough from behind him pulled Ron's attention from the pianist back to his friends. Hermione was stood, arms folded, looking stern and Harry was stood slightly behind her looking slightly fearful for the tall ginger boy. Moving away from the door and pushing it closed properly with his foot, Ron smiled sheepishly at the curly haired girl in front of him.

"Hey Hermione... I know I said I'd come and revise but the song was just too nice I had to see who was playing it."

Ron was rambling and Hermione just shook her head. Grabbing his arm, she dragged him up to the library, Harry following behind occasionally making faces at Ron during the trip. Sitting down at a table tucked away to the side, Hermione pulled out her work notes and sat down but upon realising Ron's mind was elsewhere she decided to give up.

"Her name is (Y/N). The pianist you were listening to today, her name is (Y/N). She's a 4th year Ravenclaw, really intelligent and an amazing pianist. I can play the piano myself but she is a whole other level of skill. I-"

Harry suddenly spoke up, interrupting Hermione and asking the question that had briefly passed over Ron's mind. "Wait, you play the piano? Since when?"

"Since I was a child. Now if you let me carry on I'm trying to sort out the issue of Ron not being able to think about anything other than (Y/N). And be for you try to contradict that point Ron, it's so obvious that you are thinking about her that even Harry would notice it."

Harry started to protest before his two friends rounded on him, Hermione opting for the polite way to tell him to shut up. Fixing her gaze back upon Ron, a smile crept up onto Hermione's lips, Ron's skin shuddering at gaze what she was possibly thinking.

"Hey we've still got a few terms until the end of the year and I doubt you'll stop thinking about (Y/N). Her music has a way of sticking in your mind so I'll tell you what I'll teach you to play so you can impress her."

"Wait you will?"

"Of course, you'll never revise otherwise."

A few months had passed when Ron finally found the guts to talk to (Y/N). He had been admiring her from a distance, always chickening out when he got close enough to speak to her. His crush on her had been developing in this time too. Every time he sat down at the piano to play, he kept thinking of her. She was plaguing her mind and Ron realised the only way he could stop it was if he spoke to her.

Only it didn't happen the way he planned.

Walking out of another failed piano lesson with Hermione, Ron stormed down the corridor so wrapped up in his thoughts he was unaware of the (h/c) Ravenclaw walking around the corner until it was too late. They collided. Ron's heavier tall lanky body meant he stayed relatively still whilst the girl he bumped into was about to fall into her bum. With some quick reaction, Ron reached out and grabbed her back, pulling her into him so that she didn't hit the ground.

They stayed like that for a moment, gaining back their stability before Ron looked down to see who he saved. He found himself staring into the beautiful (e/c) eyes of (Y/N), his face immediately turning the same colour as his hair out of embarrassment. Letting go quickly, Ron blushed heavier and started stammering to get words out. That was until he was saved by (Y/N).

"Hi, are you Ron by any chance?"

Ron nodded, unsure if what was going on and how someone as amazing and smart as (Y/N) knew his name. (Y/N) smiled wider at his response before speaking up.

"Just the person I was looking for then. I heard from Hermione that you've been wanting to learn piano and that you aren't taking to her teaching styles very well. And well, I was wondering if you wanted me to teach you?"

Ron stood there, speechless, his mouth opening and closing like a goldfish. The silence slowly got more and more awkward, (Y/N)'s cheeks growing redder and redder the more Ron just stared at her in shock. Blinking a few times, Ron finally broke out of his trance.

"I love you- I mean I'd love that (Y/N)!"

(Y/N) smiled widely at his agreement to learn piano with her. Moving forward and giving him a hug, she kept smiling before making her way back down the corridor, shouting back at him as she walked.

"I'll see you tomorrow then Ron! After lessons!"

Ron sat there impatiently, watching the seconds tick by as Professor Binns spoke, not a single word entering Ron's brain. His mind was too preoccupied about spending time with (Y/N). The bell ringing was his saviour and for once he was the first person out of the classroom leaving Harry and Hermione, staring after him hopelessly. Running through the corridors, Ron arrived at the room where he first heard (Y/N) play, musical notes already sounding out through the crack in the door.

Opening the door further, Ron made his way in, admiring the way (Y/N)'a fingers moved across the keys. She came to the end of the piece before turning round and facing Ron, a large smile plastered on her lips.

"Hi, part of me was worried you weren't going to come. What did you think of the song?"

"Beautiful. It's beautiful."

"I'm glad you like it because you are going to learn to play the first cords today."

Ron sat down next to (Y/N) on the piano stool, the closeness of their bodies bringing a red blush to his cheeks. Placing his hands on the keys, (Y/N) quickly pointed out the keys he had to press and away they went, (Y/N) taking over on the harder parts. Moving his hands away from the keys, Ron watched her play, the closer distance allowing him to really admire (Y/N). The music suddenly stopped and (Y/N) looked up at Ron, a blush on her cheeks.

"You are learning quickly."

"Thank you. Well you're beautiful- Ermm I mean your song is beautiful."

(Y/N) laughed, her cheeks growing a brighter red showing that she had heard Ron's original comment. Playing a few notes, she looked back up at Ron, smiling gently.

"Well it's a good thing I like you- I mean I like your playing."

They both laughed a bit, no more words being spoken between them as they went back to playing piano, both of them sitting a bit closer together on the stool than they had at the beginning. The silence between them was comfortable and Ron could tell this was going to become something very special.
