Laylas POV
"WHAT!?!?" Both calum and I screamed. How could she do this to me?
"I'm only 17. Is that even legal?" I question.
"You will be 18 by the wedding. By then it is legal." My mom calmly answered.
"But why now? Why can't we wait a few years. We know nothing about each other."
"We took that into consideration, and we have decoded that you two will be moving in together. We have bought you a nice flat not far from here." Cheryl informed us. When she said that I about lost it. How could they do this to me? The only sense of security that I've ever had is my mom and siblings and now she's just sending me away with someone I've never met before. I get up from my seat on the couch, going straight to my room, ignoring everyone's protests. When I got there I immediately shut the door and slid down, sitting against it. I put my head in my hands, letting a few tears fall.
"Layla?" I heard my mom call from the other side of the door.
"Go away. I don't want to talk to you."
"Honey. Just let me explain. Please open up." She begged. I sighed opening the door and letting her in. Once she stepped in I shut my door, locking it.
"How could you?" I stared straight at her.
"I had to. Believe me if I had a choice I would've waited for another year or longer. We are going to go into debt. My one job isn't paying the bills anymore for the 5 of us. Justin's job is helping, but it's not enough. I couldn't ask you to get a job and make you quit football so I figured you would rather do this." She sincerely tells me.
"You thought I would rather get married than give up football!" I exclaimed. "I could've found a way to work and play football. You could've told me."
"I knew this would happen if I told you. So I thought that if I kept it a surprise that maybe you would behave better. Obviously not."
"Behave better? I'm sorry that I'm mad because I was just told that I'm going to be getting married at 18. "
"I know your mad okay. I get it, but I didn't have a choice. I don't want you getting married this early in life either believe me, but let's make the most of it. If It doesn't work out you get a divorce and come back home." She sighed.
"You don't get it mom. If I get married and get divorced it I my record forever, it doesn't just go away!" I yell. She sighs.
"Can you please just go out there and talk to them."
"No. Not right now at least I just want to be alone."
"You can be alone after they all leave. Right now you need to get your butt down there and talk to them. Calum isn't acting like this. He is being cooperative. Why can't you be like him? You know this is what your father would've wanted for you." She raises her voice. I don't even respond, I run out of my room and right through the front door. When I got through the door I threw my heels off and took off at a dead Sprint for Andreas house. When I got there I pounded on the door, and she immediately answered. When I saw her I bursted into tears.
"What happened?" She pulled me into a bear hug, waiting for me to pull back. When I was finally able to get a hold of my emotions I pulled away, and she took me to her room.
"What's going on?"
"I'm getting ma- married." I sobbed.
"What!?" She screamed. I told her everything from Calum to My mom and I's fight.
"I'm so sorry baby. I don't know what I can do to stop her." She said, pulling me in for another hug.
"You can't do anything, she's made her decision and there's no changing her mind." I sigh. "I should probably get back, they're probably really worried about me. I kind of just walked out."
"I'll get my keys and drive you home. I don't think it's a good idea to walk home at 10 o'clock at night."
I smile, "okay. Thanks Andi. For everything."
"No problem. I wish I could do more. Promise me that when you get married you will still be my best friend!?"
"Of course. And since I'm getting married, would you do the honor of being my maid of honor?" I excitedly ask her.
"Of course. I would love too, but don't you need to ask calum about it first?" She questioned.
"Nah. I'll choose my bridesmaids, he can choose the groomsmen." She nodded, mumbling a response before grabbing her keys to take me home. She came back a few minutes later. We climbed in the car and started the short ride to my house. We stayed silent through most of the ride. When we got there Andrea asked if I wanted her to come in with me, but I politely declined. I need to deal with this by myself. I got out of the car, thanking them for the ride home. I went to the door, twisting the knob and walking in. What I saw was a shock. Calum was sitting there on my couch.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. Why was he still here?
"Everyone went looking for you since you didn't come back. I stayed in case you came back. Which you did." He explained. "I'm supposed to call them if you show back up, but if you want some time I'll wait a few minutes."
"Thanks. I don't think I want to talk to my mom right now." I sighed, sitting in the chair across from him. We sat in an awkward silence for a few minutes before he spoke up.
"If you don't mind me asking why'd you leave? Do you really not like me that much?"
"No. It has nothing to do. I'm not a big fan of this situation, and my mom said something when we were upstairs that made me mad, and my emotions just kind of boiled over."I told him looking down. I thought about my night and felt the tears starting to brim in my eyes. Calum must've noticed because he moved over and hugged me, making me feel better. I pulled back.
"Thanks."
"No problem love." He smiled. "I better call your mom before she calls the cops or something. " He chuckles.
"I wouldn't worry about her, that would be Justin." I giggled.
"Your laugh is really cute." He compliments me.
"Thanks." I blush. We stand there staring at each others for a minute. What do I do? My mom ruins the moment by running in.
"Thank goodness your back, I was so worried about you."
"Obviously not, since you didn't look in the most logical spot other than the football field." I gave her the duh look before mumbling a goodnight to calum and stomping up the stairs. When I got there I changed into the same pajamas, and got in bed. Letting my body fall into a deep sleep.
