Layla’s POV
I was awoken by Calum telling me that we were home. We both got out and went inside the house immediately retreating to the kitchen. I started looking through the cupboards hoping to find something quick and easy to make for dinner. At the same time Calum is looking through the Fridge and Freezer doing the same thing.
“What about chicken nuggets?” Calum suggests, pulling them out of the freezer.
“Sounds good” I step down from my tiptoes and reach to turn on the oven “What does it need to be on?”
“350⁰” He tells me pulling out a pan and putting a bunch of nuggets on it. I went and sat down at the island, rubbing my temples trying to release some of the pressure. “Why don’t you go upstairs and take a shower or change into your pajamas. You can come down after and this should be done.” Calum suggested. I nodded taking his advice and going upstairs. When I got to my room, I decided to take a quick shower since I was sweaty from the game. I grabbed everything and hopped in, letting the water help relax my muscles. I stand under the steaming water for a while before I decide I should probably get out soon. I washed my hair, conditioning, and rinsing it before I got out of the shower. I wrapped my hair up and grabbed my towel quickly drying my body. I put the clothes on this I had brought into the bathroom with me. I then took my hair out and brushed it before I put it in a messy bun atop my head. I cleaned up my mess making sure to wipe the floor of all the excess water before I moved back into my room. I threw my dirty clothes into the laundry basket and headed back down to the kitchen.
“Feel better?” Calum asked as soon as I move into the kitchen.
“Yes. Thanks.” He sets my plate down in front of me and takes a seat beside me at the island. We ate mostly in silence, both of us keeping to our own thoughts. When I finished I placed my plate in the dishwasher and Calum followed placing his in there too. We both moved to the couch.
“So have you thought any more about England?” He asked. It was such a simple question, yet it tore my heart slightly. I would LOVE to go to England. I mean who wouldn’t, they have some of the best teams in the world. It absolutely flatters me that someone would want me on their team, but on the same thing so much bad stuff happened there. Was I really ready to go back and have everything I worked here to get better turned upside down again? I don’t know if I would be able to hold myself together if that were to happen. I would probably lose control again and this time my family wouldn’t be there to see the symptoms. They wouldn’t be there before it got too bad. They wouldn’t be able to stop me and I may not be able to come back from it. And what about Andrea? She wouldn’t be able to go with me either. She has to finish up school. She doesn’t want to graduate early. Even if she did it’s not like her parents would let her move to England to be with me. She needs to stay here. Then there’s always Calum. I mean he seems like an amazing guy. Someone who I wouldn’t mind getting to know. I mean marriage is probably a little premature but if my mom thinks it’s a good idea then she probably has a good reason for it. HE definitely can’t move with me either. His band is stationed here for petes sake. He can’t just up and leave now. Especially since they are starting to get popular. I won’t let him just leave them stranded without a bassist. So I would be alone in England. I would know no one. That’s how I came to my conclusion.
“I have and I think I’ve decided not to go.” I mumbled.
“Layla you have to go! It’s a HUGE opportunity. Something that you probably are only going to get once in your lifetime. You can’t just let it pass by.”
“But I don’t think I can do it Calum. I would miss everybody so much. I don’t want to go there where I’m just going to be alone the whole time. I mean I’ll have my teammates, but what if we don’t get alo-“
