*CENEEDRA'S POV*

"Ceneedra! Get up! Time for school!" My dad shouted up the stairs to me.
I groaned and pressed my face deeper into my pillow. I really didn't want to go to school especially since it was my first day. I hadn't been to a proper school since I got adopted when I was 8 by Mike Fuentes. I had been homeschooled since Mike was in a band and wanted to take me on tours. He's the drummer in a band called Pierce the Veil with his brother Vic and their friends Jaime and Tony.
"C'mon, Cen." Dad said walking into my room. "The guys are downstairs waiting for you."
I groaned and turned my head to the side to face my dad. Mike asked me to call him dad basically once he adopted me. "I changed my mind, I don't want to go to school," I mumbled.
"Tough," Dad laughed. "You're going and you're going to enjoy it."
I groaned again. I'm so not a morning person.
"How about, if you go, I'll let you get any piercing you want," Dad bribed me.
"Including facial?" I questioned.
Dad nodded.
"Fiine," I sighed rolling out of bed. "Now get out so I can get changed."
Dad chuckled before leaving my room and closing the door.
I quickly got dressed into my black Of Mice & Men band tee, black ripped jeans and black converses. I wear a lot of black. I brushed and curled my dyed black hair before placing my PTV pom beanie on. I then quickly applied my eyeliner and mascara before going downstairs to the kitchen. I made myself a bowl of Reese's Puffs before going to the lounge where dad was sitting with Uncle Vic, Jaime and Tony. The guys all greeted me once they saw me.
I smiled back before sitting on the couch.
"Looking forward to going to school?" Jaime asked me.
I shrugged since my mouth was full of my cereal. "I don't want to be the new girl," I said once I had swallowed.
"You'll be fine, Cen," Jaime smiled showing off his dimples.
"As long as you're not late," Mike stated. I looked at the time. I still had 15 minutes to get ready and I already had my bag packed and my timetable sorted.
"Would you feel better about going to school if we take you out for lunch?" Uncle Vic asked.
"Maybe," I smiled.
"Can't believe my little Ceneedra is starting high school," Jaime teased.
I stuck my tongue out in response.
Once I finished my cereal, I went up to my room and grabbed my bag. It was really heavy since it had all my books in it.
When I was ready, I said bye to Uncle Vic, Jaime and Tony before walking out to Dad's car.
When we pulled up at my new school, I hesitated getting out of the car.
"C'mon, Cen, you'll be fine and I'm just a phone call away." Dad comforted me.
"I guess," I sighed. "I'm just scared it's going to be a repeat of the orphanage."
"Remember what I told you, don't react and they will stop. They're just trying to get a reaction."
I nodded. "I guess I'll see you at lunch then,"
"Have fun, sweetie." Dad smiled as I got out the car.
"I'll try, but no promises," I laughed.
Dad drove off leaving me on my own. I took a deep breath before entering the new school.
I made my way to the office where I would find out where my locker was and get someone to show me where my classes were. The boy showing me around was called Alex. He was the quarterback and he was the most popular guy in school. He looked at me like I was just a piece of dirt on the bottom of his shoe.
"So basically, this is you're homeroom," Alex told me. "And I guess, I have to meet you outside here to show you to your next class."
"I'm so sorry I have to stop you from hanging out with all your popular friends," I said rolling my eyes. I ignored his stare and walked into the classroom nervously. I walked up to the teacher and handed her the piece of paper the office lady gave me. She looked up at me and took in my appearance. I rolled my eyes as she scowled at the small stretcher in my right ear and my nose piercing.
"Ahh, Miss Fuentes," the teacher fake smiled at me. "Welcome to the school. I'm Mrs Harson."
I smiled back. I went to go take a seat but Mrs Harson stopped me.
"Class, this is Ceneedra Fuentes, I want you to make her feel welcome and help her out." I was introduced.
I smiled shyly at the class before taking a seat right at the back of the class. Mrs Harson started reading the notices. People turned around to look at me and I had to fight the urge to flip them off. A piece of paper made its way onto my desk.

Are you an emo??

I rolled my eyes and scrunched the note up before throwing it on the floor. The bell couldn't have gone any sooner. I walked out of the class and waited for Alex. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.

From: Daddy Whiskey Hands :)
How's your first day of school going? x

To: Daddy Whiskey Hands :)
It would be better if people weren't judgmental fucks. x

I sighed as I saw Alex walking towards me.
"Hey," he smiled at me. Oh, so now he's going to be nicer.
I rolled my eyes before giving him a small smile.
I felt my phone vibrate again.

From: Daddy Whiskey Hands :)
Just hang in there bub, it'll be ok x

"Who's that?" Alex asked.
"Just my dad checking up on me," I replied.
"Why is his name 'Daddy Whiskey Hands'?" He questioned.
"It's his nickname. Why were you looking at my phone screen?" I said.
"Just curious," Alex said defensively. We began walking off to my first class which Alex just happened to be in. Maths. Great. So not the class I wanted first on my first day of class. I walked in and gave my teacher the note and he introduced me to the rest of the class before telling me to sit next to Alex. The whole lesson was boring. Not surprising since it's maths. I ended up just writing song lyrics down in my book. One that kept popping up was 'who are you to fall apart on me' from Pierce the Veil's song Hell Above. There was also lyrics to songs by All Time Low, Sleeping With Sirens, Of Mice and Men and Bring Me The Horizon.
Finally the class finished and I had a free period. I tried to get away from Alex and go find the library but he caught up to me.
"Hey, Ceneedra," Alex called out to me. "Wait up."
I turned around and scowled.
"I have a free period now too, wanna hang out?"
"Don't you have like a cheerleader girlfriend to go swap spit with?" I spat. I know I was being a bitch for no reason, but I didn't want any friends. I was perfectly happy with the friends I have. Even if they didn't live in the same state as me and they were all 10+ years older than me and all in bands.
"I do, but she's got class and I want to make sure you're alright." Alex said.
I sighed. All I wanted to do was be on my own in the library and maybe find a Harry Potter book I could read for a bit even though I've read them too many times to count.
"Please?" Alex basically begged.
I was about to answer when a guy wearing a varsity jacket walked over to Alex and gave him a bro hug.
"Dude, why are you hanging out with the new chick?" the guy asked.
"Well why not?" Alex replied. "I was the new kid once so I know how it feels."
Great, so I'm just a pity friend.
"Look, Alex, I'm not in the mood for company so I'm just going to go to the library." I said not in the mood for any shit.
"Wait, Ceneedra," Alex called after me again.
"Alex, I'm not some pity project ok. I can find my way around the school on my own and I just want to be left alone." I snapped.
Alex looked hurt but I brushed it off and went into the girls bathroom.
Walking in there felt like Deja Vu. Three girls were standing there gossiping about random shit. I quickly turned around to leave when one of them called out.
"Ew, why is there an emo whore in the bathroom."
I quickly left the bathroom and got my phone out of my pocket.

To: Turtle 🐢
Can you please get me out of here? I can't do this.

Tony was the one I went to for what I didn't want to talk to my dad about.

From: Turtle 🐢
It's gonna be ok Cen, just wait until lunch and if it gets worse I'll convince your dad to take you home. You'll be fine x

I sighed. Of course, they all want me to go to school so I can get a good job. I'm fine with being a merch girl for the rest of my life or I could start a band like the guys. I put my phone back in my pocket as I made my way to my locker. I decided I needed to customize the inside a bit. I made a mental note to bring pictures in of me and all the guys including all my friends from other bands and some small posters to stick up. I closed my locker door with a bang. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Alex.
"I take it you don't give up easily," I sighed.
"I'm curious about you, normally girls love me cos I'm the quarterback," Alex smirked. "But you act like you couldn't care less."
"Maybe cos I'm not a fan of stuck up popular guys," I replied.
"Ok then, tell me, what kind of guys do you like?" Alex questioned leaning on the locker next to mine.
"Guys who have lots of tattoos and piercings and are into post hardcore, metal core and death core music and play music." I replied.
"So guys like Austin Carlile," Alex said pointing at my top.
I raised an eyebrow at him.
"I'm into that kind of music too," Alex smiled. "And I saw you writing lyrics in maths."
"So you like looking at my phone and in my books, you're really nosey." I said.
"What's your last name again?" Alex questioned, ignoring my statement.
"Exactly what I mean, nosey," I rolled my eyes.
"How about we meet up for lunch?" He asked.
"I'm meeting up with my dad and uncles." I replied flatly. To other people I called Tony and Jaime my uncles because they basically were.
"Too bad," Alex said. "Maybe tomorrow?"
"Maybe," I replied.

A/N: sorry if this is boring.
