'Cause if you liked it, then you should have put a ring on it

If you liked it, then you shoulda put a ring on it

Don't be mad once you see that he want it

'Cause if you liked it, then you shoulda put a ring on it

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

I groaned in annoyance as I heard my phone going off. My hands slid across the cool satin sheets that spread over my bed until I found the annoying thing underneath my other pillow. Squinting my eyes from the light that shined from the screen, I read that it was only eight in the morning. My friend, Shay, has been calling me non-stop since lastnight and I wasn't surprised to see that it was her that was now calling me.

" Shay, I swear if you call me one more time, I'm going to hurt you. Why are you calling me so early? It better be an emergency." I groaned into the phone with my sleepy voice.

" It's not Shay, it's Reginald."

" I'm sorry, Reg. What's going on?" I turned over in my bed and opened the curtain a bit to see how bright it was outside. I immediately closed it back when the sun blinded me from it's bright rays. I kept my eyes closed as I waited for Reggie to respond.

" What's going on is that your friend is locked up for fighting some girl from a party she went to lastnight. Her parent's won't bail her out, I'm out of town until three for a job today and you're the only other person who I could call to get her out. You're eighteen so they'll let you get her out."

I sighed in annoyance. Shay was always getting into trouble for fighting. This is the reason why I don't go to parties with her. Always drama.

" Reg, this is the third time in four month that she's has gotten put in a cell for her fighting. Can't we just leave her there until graduation?"

" Haha, I'm afraid not. The officer who arrested her actually called me and told me to take her. Like I said before, I'm doing a job so I can't. I told them that you'll be there though."

Covering my face with my free hand, I went through a million sceneries of the ways I could kill Shay without getting caught. None of them were good.

" Okay. I'm getting up now. Which jail is she at?"

" SFCJ. I owe you one, V. I'll see you later."

I threw my phone on my nightstand as I slid out of the comfort of my warm sheets. I didn't have time to shower so I just threw my hair in a bun and put on some sweats and a t-shirt, my favorite kind of clothes.

Dad and mom were working so it was just me and dog, Molly, here. Molly was a chocolate standard Poodle. My parent's brought her for me on my sixteenth birthday.

" Molls, come girl!" I yelled as I walked through the house, to the front door. She came bounding towards me at full speed, her claws tapping frantically agaisnt the hardwood floors. I pet her head as she jumped on me and grabbed my car keys from the key holder.

As soon as I opened the door, the hot heat, from San Frio's famous, always shining, sun, hit my face with a punch. It was only eight-thirty in the morning and it was already ninety degrees out. I jogged to my truck with my trusty sidekick at my side and turned on the a/c as soon as the car was started. Molly took her spot in the passenger seat and looked at me as if to say " Let's go."

I smiled at her and reversed the truck out of the long, windy driveway and headed towards San Frio's County Jail.

Forty minutes later, we pull up to the place and I park the car in the closest parking spot to the building. I left the car running, so I didn't have to turn off the a/c, and took my spare key with me. As I stepped in, the strong smell of coffee hit and almost made me gag. It was a nice jail, I guess, but everyone in here were always wired up on coffee, including the desk sitters.
