Chapter 2: I'm Joining No Matter What!

Eren's POV

"Are you sure your okay?" She asked me again.

"Yea I'm fine,"

"Okay, I love that you had the courage to stand up like that, but you should really think about your actions." She explained, "I mean no one will know how things will turn out, but that one was pretty obvious."

I was still looking at her in shock.

"The Scouting Legion," I said randomly.

"What?" She was confused for half a second, "Oh yeah, I'm apart of the Survey Corps."

Armin and Mikasa was by my side and I'm pretty sure they were as shocked as I was.

"Then, why are you here? With the Garrison?" I asked.

"We'll it's kind of a long story," she said.

To me it looked like she didnt want to talk about it.

"By the way, what's your name?" I asked.

"Zandra, what's all your names?"

"I'm Eren, and this is Mikasa and Armin," I replied.

"Zandra? I've never in my entire life heard of that name before," Armin admitted.

"Yeah well my parents were something special, lets just put it like that," she admitted.

"Zandra!" A voice called.

Zandra turned toward the voice.

"What is it Mike?" She said annoyed.

"Erwin wants to speak with you," he said

"Why? I'd didn't do anything wrong," she lied.

"Well-" I was cut off

"Shh!" She turned quickly toward us and then back to Mike.

"I don't care what you did, Erwin just wants to see you," Mike demanded.

"But I'm not done here!" She demanded back, " there are still people here who didnt get any food yet."

"Your not even suppose to be here so you are coming with me," he replied.

"True," she agreed, "ugh! Fine I'll come!"

Then she turned back toward us and bent down to my height. Which she didnt bend down much, she wasn't very tall. She put her hand on my cheek.

"Stay out of trouble okay you three?" She said smiling looking at all of us.

Then she backed away a few steps, turned around and used her maneuver gear to get away.

After she left Armin, Mikasa and I went under the shade. I sat on a bench and confessed something.

"I'm going back to Wall Maria," I said

"I'm going to kill all the titans!"

"Eren, you aren't serious, are you?" Armin asked.

"I am serious!" I snapped back at him.

"I'm not like them, sitting inside the walls acting tough!"

"Don't need this!" I threw my bread at Armin.

"But Eren, you'll starve!" Armin pointed out.

I got up.

"This doesn't bother you?!"

"We can't win until we can stop depending on stuff from them!"

"It's impossible!" Armin yelled at me, "we can't beat the titans, anyway."

"There's nothing we can do but live within the walls..."

"If you do something dumb, you'll die. Just like my mom and dad!"

"So we should suck up to them instead?"

"Aren't you ashamed?"

"Right now..."

"Right now, there's no choice!"

"That's just an excuse!"

"Then spend the rest of your life as cattle, weakling!"

Armin looked shocked.

Then Mikasa acted and punched the side of my face so hard I fell down.

"If Armin is a weakling, so are we," she explained, "we didnt even run from the titans on our own two feet. We couldn't even get the food we're eating today without help. Anyone so weak couldn't possibly defeat a single Titan... What matters is survival. Just like your mother said."

She took the bread from Armins hand and walked over to me and shoved it in my mouth.

"Eat... And survive! I will not let you starve!"

Several days later, refugees were sent in droves to till the wastelands, to bring in more food. But even still, there wasn't enough. And in the following year, in 846, the central government used many refugees in an ostensibly to recover Wall Maria.

Two hundred fifty thousand, in all...

Approximately twenty percent of the population.

But there were only just over a hundred survivors. Their sacrifice alleviated the food shortage for the rest of somewhat.

Armin grandpa had died and all he had given Armin was his hat, Armin was sitting down against the wall. He started sobbing a bit, I decided to say something.

"It's all be because of the titans," I started, "if we destroy them, we can retake our home."

I sat down next to Armin. And added on...

"Armin,"

"I'm enlisting next year."

"I'll gain power to fight titans!" I admitted.

"Me, too." Armin said quietly.

"Armin?"

"Me, too!" He spoke up.

"I'll go, as well," Mikasa added in.

"Mikasa, you don't have to..." I told her

"Didnt you say that it's important to survive?"

"That's right. So I'll go, to keep you from dying."

I hate when she tries to protect me like I'm her little brother! I can take care of myself!

I stood up.

"All right..."

"The three of us."
