After killing the dragon, Dytria could tell that he'd manage to level up at least once.
He opened the menu and checked through his stats, everything had leveled, and he'd even managed to gain a new skill. Dytria looked down to his skills and realised he'd managed to get a climbing skill. It'd already made it to level five. Overall his level had increased a fair bit, he could feel his new found strength.
With the dragon dead and looted, Dytria decided to set up a small fire. Hopefully it wasn't big enough to alarm any of the remaining creatures he was around. He had ran out of energy to fight anymore after this long hard day.
The warmth of the fire was quite calming and reassuring, compared to the windy mountains he'd just climbed and the growing cold night air. Dytria rubbed his hands together, keeping as warm as possible.
Dytria knew that he had to log off sometime, as he couldn't stay in the game forever as his real life still needed attention. So Dytria sat with his back against a tree, hopefully hidden from plain sight, and went through the menu, and logged off.
~Real Life (dun dun dun DUN)~
Tyler raised the helmet off his head and moved it over to his desk. He stood up and stretched his legs out after lying down for so long. Even though he had been running and fighting in game, he felt like he'd been lying on his bed all day.
With a quick at the clock on his bedside table, he walked out of his room in the dark and flicked on the lights as he made it to the kitchen. Tyler grabbed some food from the fridge and walked into the lounge room, leaving the light off and turning on the t-v. He flicked through the channels checking if anything good was on, but ended up leaving on the Unlimited Online news channel.
The reporters were all wearing bright colours with crazy hairstyles like in the hunger games. Each reporter was asking questions about strategies and adventures, to the highest known level players. Anyone could tell that they were all seeking attention as they showed off there strongest weapons and most expensive armours.
The player who was the strongest known player wore shining gold armour, with a massive great sword on their back. He stood with pride, and had quite a crowd in the background. Girls wearing bright colourful clothes and trying to show off their bodies, were all crowding around, some screaming for the player to turn around.
A small light flashed in the distance, no one in the game noticed it, but it was easy to see from the t-v. Another light flashed again more to the right but slowly getting closer.
The reporter, stopped to listen to what was going on through their headset. Fear ran through the reporter and they started yelling for people to run.
"Everyone run!!!" The reporter started yelling and tried forcing people to move. "We're not safe here, run". The strongest player stood there trying to calm the reporter down, trying to make sense of what was happening.
"A-all the other strong players are being k-killed" the reporter was shaking in fear. There was no way they could be getting killed, they were meant to be the strongest players. The player laughed.
"No way, and if they are there's nothing I can't defeat, whether it's players or monsters" The player gloated, he puffed his chest out and drew his sword, holding it up as if to protect everyone. The crowd behind was looking quite scared, but calmed down a bit after hearing this. "Now lets get back to the interv-".
A bright light flashed across the entire screen. Tyler sat there shocked, his food forgotten about. A scream was heard from the t-v. Then the light cleared up. Right where the player was standing, there was now nothing living there. The crowd standing behind were stumbling around, clearly being blinded by such a bright light.
On the ground lay the great sword that the player had been using to supposedly 'protect' everyone. Everyone stood around shocked, slight scared of what might happen to them. As if whatever that power was could take out that player, they were doomed.
The reporter was quiet till now.
"Everyone I've just received some news from what might be happening, as we've heard from the player from the real world" The reporter started with a slightly shocked and scared face. "The light we just saw now seems to have been an attack from another player, and has killed the strongest player known. But this strongest player seems to not be able to log back in".
There was a slight pause, as what the reporter stumbled on what he was going to say next.
"No one panic, but it seems this new power that no one has ever seen before seems to permanent." With that eh screen turned black and then it changed over to the base of all the reporters. The most famous reporters had all rounded up and started to explain in better words what was happening.
"As our friend had just said, this seems to be a permanent death for your player, but there's no need to worry as we have the game creators working on a fix, and there doesn't seem to be any more attacks, so everyone we all assure you that you are safe."
Tyler couldn't believe what they were saying. There's no way that there's someone that strong that they managed to kill the top strongest players known to be killed in one shot. Realisation hit Tyler, as he started to realise the seriousness of the situation. All of their hard work and time had been destroyed in less than seconds, and this could happen to anyone.
Tyler knew he couldn't do anything right at this moment so he turned off the t-v, cleaned up his mess and went to sleep with thoughts on what might happen in the future.
