It's been months since the last time I heard from Joji. He disappeared without a trace. Oh, I wonder how he's been. Has he moved on? Did he find someone better? Does he still love me as much as I do? So many questions left unanswered. I tried getting in touch with him multiple times, but it seems that he blocked me from every social media. I used to text him once every other day, waiting for an answer. But I've simply given up. I stopped watching his videos right after that day. I couldn't hear his raspy voice or even look at those brown eyes that once made me fall in love. He went away and it's time for me to take a different path. It's time to walk away and leave him in the past. I miss his warmth, his laugh, his smile... I miss everything, and it sucks to not have him by my side anymore. It sucks to know that I might never speak to him again. However, I must forget him, forget everything we had and just move on.
My grades have flunked and Alejandro gave me a few weeks off of work because of a mental breakdown. I don't have the motivation to get out of bed anymore. I've smoked too many cigarettes in just one week, but why should it matter? Death will come to all of us anyways. I've probably lost weight and gotten paler. My apartment is a total mess. Dirty furniture, papers on the floor, empty bottles of gin on the kitchen countertops... Nothing feels the same. Nothing makes me happy anymore. All I want is his presence next to mines.
Unfortunately, it's too late. Too late for apologies, for "I love you" texts... too late to sit back and wait for him to enter through the front door, claiming to still love me. It's time to look for someone new. Someone totally different that won't remind me of Joji every time I look at him, at his eyes, at his smile.
