Today was Joji's birthday and I had planned to surprise him after I get out of classes. I might buy him a teddy bear and visit him at his University. It was 10:34am, my third period already. Calculus is terrible, but it's mandatory. We weren't really doing anything today, so I decided to text him.Sarah: Joji!! Happy birthday, idiot!
Joji: Sarah Gates!! Thanks, stupid. <3
Sarah: Anything planned for today with the boys?
Joji: "Not really. Why? You taking me out? ;)
Sarah: You may never know. ^-^
"How's the work going, Sarah?" I suddenly heard my professor shout from his desk. Professor Remington, an old, tall and sourpuss man. Out of all the professors, he's the worst one in personality. God forbid he cracks a joke once. The man barely laughs!
Sarah: Ugh gotta go, man. Caught me red handed haha. Don't plan anything after classes. Later!
Joji: Haha alright, dummy. Later xoxo.
I blushed at the last part of his message. I obviously looked like an idiot to everyone else; staring at my phone smiling. Who would've known that a guy I met at a coffee shop would make me feel this way? We talked every single day, right until one of us passes out in the night. As much as I've denied it, I've developed a crush on him. On Joji Kusunoki-Miller, and I don't regret it at all. He's the nicest guy I've met in the longest and I'm glad I have him in my life. Even if nothing special happens between us.

As I was walking towards his university, which was not that far from mines, he suddenly called me. I smiled and answered shyly.
"H-hello?" I say softly while walking across a street.
"Sarah Gates! I'm outside already. Where are you?" He sounded so excited. I really hope he likes the teddy bear.
"I'm a few buildings away. I think I can see you already." I try to wave at him but it seemed he couldn't find me.
"Sarah, you're short. You're somewhere in that wave of people." He started laughing and then he saw me. George ran towards me with a wide smile on his face. When he finally reached me, he hugged me as tight as possible. "I'm so glad to see you! I missed you a lot." He let go of me and stood in front of me excited.
"I missed you too, Joji. Look what I got for you!" I said while handing him the teddy bear. It was a simple light brown teddy bear, with a small collar around its neck and a small bell hanging from it. His smile just got wider and wider by the second. He let out a small screech and hugged me once again, ignoring the people staring at us while they passed us.
"Sarah! I love this so much!" He sounded like a child when given the toy they always wanted on Christmas Day. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me since I moved here." He looked into my eyes, practically staring at them. His brown eyes sparkling and full of tears. He smiled and kissed my forehead. I felt myself go completely red afterwards. That was the greatest thing that's happened to me recently. "I wi always cherish this, Sarah Gates. Thank you."
"Well, you're quite welcome. Now, let's go!" I said while grabbing his hand and walking against the wave of people. "I'm taking you somewhere that's special to me."
---
After driving around and waiting in traffic, we finally arrived to the location. To where we first met, Dulces Vita. He giggled and looked at me."Where we met. I come here all the time now. This place is special to me too." And with that, he got out of the car and walked towards my side. He opened the door and held his hand out for me to grab. We walked to the coffee shop, excited than ever.
After ordering our coffees, we sat down next to the giant window in the front of the shop. We started talking about our day and classes. Suddenly, he went quiet. George was just staring at me with heart eyes. Then, he spoke,
"Do you know something?"
"No? Tell me, Joji." He grabbed both of my hands softly and caressed them with his thumbs.
"I really like you. As in I have a crush on you, Sarah Gates. And I'm not afraid of telling you." I sat there quiet for a few seconds. Pretty much in shock. I never expected him to like me back.
"George, I-" He cut me off nervously and spoke,
"It's okay if, um, you don't feel the same way. I'll always be happy to have you in my life."
"N-no it's not that! It's just that I-" I was so nervous to confess my feelings toward him, even though he just did to me. "I feel the same way and at first I thought it was just stupid little crushes, but I really like you George. I rea-" He shut me up with a kiss. His lips were warm and very soft. I felt a lot of butterflies in my stomach as he caressed my cheeks with his soft hand. When we finally separated our lips, he laughed softly and said,
"I'm sorry... you were saying?"
"Joji, you deserve all of this. You deserve to be happy."
"Then keep making me happy, Sarah Gates."
I promise, George, that I will always try to make you happy. I just hope you do the same as well...
