It was morning, meaning I have to go back to the hospital today. I hopped out of bed and immidiatley went to take a shower.
When I was out I went downstairs. Mom had made breakfast but I honestly wasn't hungry. As happy as I was to get back to Kenny, I really was not ready to go back to the hospital. I want to stay home and get back to my old life. I want to hang out with Emmitt and Alex everyday.
"Morning." I looked up and saw Madi. I nodded and gave her a small smile. Matt bounded down the stairs. As soon as he stepped foot into the kitchen I left and went back up to my room.
I don't want to see him. He's a negative person. He brings negativity in my life. I need positivity right now.
I kinda need Kenny.
I went to my stereo and took out Homesick. I put on 'If It Means a Lot to You'. I heard a knock on my door. I got up and opened it. Austin stood in the doorway.
"Hey." He said walking in.
"Hi." I said. He sat on my bed and I sat next to him.
"So, you go back today?" Austin asked. I nodded.
"Well, I have to leave for work soon so I won't be able to say bye then." I noticed that he was wearing his work shirt. Austin worked at Guitar Center. It was pretty sweet. He was surrounded by music all day.
But the customers could sometimes ruin it.
"So I guess I'll see you in a month or so." Austin said. I really don't know why, but I got a lump in my throat. Maybe it was the way he said it or the fact that I still have another month in that hell hole.
"I don't wanna go back." I said.
"I know Ash, but it's what's best for you. You'll be fine." He said.
"I know, I know. It's just... I don't like being cooped up in that place."
"Well that's just a consequence. I went through all of this too and it really helped me. If I hadn't gotten help I would still be depressed and cutting myself. I wouldn't be happy. I wouldn't have a job. And I wouldn't be able to help you. I would just pull you down with me." Tears welled in my eyes, but I got them to go away.
I gave Austin a hug and whispered,
"Thank you for everything."

I was back in my room at the hospital. I haven't seen Kenny yet, sadly. Everyone was doing their activity but they said I could just wait in my room since they were almost done. I sat on my bed, examining my scars.
Some of the small ones had started to fade but the big ones hadn't changed at all.
"Ash?" I looked up and saw Kenny. He had a huge smile on his face. My mood brightened instantly when I saw how happy he was. I got up and pulled him close to me. He held on to me so hard he could've broken a rib.
He pulled back to kiss me and then he pulled away completely.
"I was so lonely without you! I had no one to talk to it was terrifying!" He said. I laughed.
"I missed you." I said.
"I missed you, too."
I pulled him in for a kiss. I wrapped my arms around his small waist. I felt his hands snake up under my shirt. He touched my ribs and then pulled away.
"You're so bony." Kenny said.
"No I'm not." I said.
"Yeah you are. It's unnerving."
"Sorry."
"No, no you're fine. It's nothing. It's okay." He came back and started to kiss me again. I, again, put my hands around his waist but Kenny just put his arms around my neck. We stayed like that for awhile. Just kissing.
Kenny was first to pull away.
"We have lunch." He said.
"Can't we skip it?" I whined. He shook his head no. "You need it."
"Rude." I said and playfully hit him.
"Just telling the truth." He said with a sly smile. I laughed and we walked down to lunch.
When we got there, we got our food and then sat down.
"How's your day so far?" I asked. I played with my food not really wanting to eat any of it.
"Good, yours?" Kenny said.
"I had a good day. Did you do anything fun?" Distractions, distractions.
"Not really. We never do anything fun though."
"True. I wish they let us outside."
"Same."
The bell rang so I got up and threw away lunch. I hadn't eaten a single bite. We got up and went to our room. I walked in first then Kenny came in, closing the door behind him.
I sat on my bed and Kenny came to sit next to me.
"There's barely anything to talk about. Nothing happens." Kenny said. I nodded in agreement.
"Then we can just enjoy each other's prescence." I said, putting my hand on top of his. Kenny pushed me back so we were laying down. His leg was spread across mine and his hand was across my torso.
"Sounds good to me."
