Elsa doesn't know where she is

Elsa doesn't know where she is. All she can see is stone walls. It's all around her. The floor is stone, the wall is stone, and there is no windows. Yet there's a light showing the way. She carefully makes her way through the stone hallway. A draft blows past her. Elsa shivers violently. She's still in her Tweety summer Pjs. Suddenly, she hears evil laughter behind her. Elsa spins around; there's no one there. Something grabs her around the neck and squeezes. Elsa pries at the fingers, but they don't relent. "No one ever escapes me for long. Even Jesus can't help you now." The whisper makes her stop. "No." She manages. His laughter mocks her as she struggles to escape. Slowly, the light fades, and darkness quickly replaces it.

Elsa bolts straight up in the bed. Sweat drips slowly off her face. The blanket is wrapped tightly around her neck, restricting her breathing. That was strange, I don't usually have such bad dreams. I'm sure it's nothing, probably just the lasagna I had for dinner last night.
Shaking her head to rid herself of the remnants of the dream, Elsa looks at her phone clock. It's only 4:00a.m. and three hours until school begins.
Elsa burrows into her bed and tries to go to back to sleep.
   It doesn't work.
With a sigh, Elsa rolls off the bed, onto the floor. FUMPH! Ughh. The floor is a lot harder than I remember. Groaning, Elsa drags herself across the room to her dresser.
After she changes, Elsa drags herself to the kitchen and grabs the Milo they bought yesterday, and doesn't bother to eat at the table.
More than once, she has to guard her food from Latoya, their inside dog. "Go away, Latoya, this is my food. You're already fat enough." She says to the dog as she sniffs the bowl.
After breakfast, Elsa stumbles to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Just wonderful, having to eat yummy, chocolaty Milo, just to shove some minty paste in my mouth straight after, She thinks.
Being so early, Elsa went outside to tend to the horses. Even Pal isn't up yet! Great! How am I going to feed him, if he's not awake?
Looking for something else to do, Elsa starts towards the house, then stops. There's that feeling again.
She slowly turns around, and scans the land. She can't see anyone, but they're there. She can feel it.
   Elsa continues into the house.
She plops onto her bed. Leaning back, she grabs The Cast of Stones by Patrick W. Carr. She loves that book.

Authors Note: if you've never read that book, I recommend it. It's a great book.

A while later, she doesn't realize that it's time to leave for school, until someone shoves her off the bed. "Hey! What was that for?!" She exclaims to her 24 year-old brother, Joshua, who was visiting for a week. He's in the Australian Army, so he doesn't get much time off.
"Look at the time!" He says, pointing to the clock. She looks and immediately jumps up and bolts to her bike. Her other brother, Ira, already left. It was time to leave three minutes earlier. "You didn't have to shove me though!" She replies, as she grabs her backpack.
Joshua shrugs. "Mum said to alert you, but she didn't say I had to do it gently."
Elsa doesn't hear. She's already peddling down the road, wishing there wasn't four gates along the way. Half hour later, She loads the bus, just as it was leaving.
When she gets to the high school, Elsa opens her bag to make sure she got everything. It was definitely is not the time to check, but she only remembered then.
The backpack is empty.  She rams her hand into the schools brick wall. "Ouch!" Elsa was such a hurry, that she forgot about cleaning out her bag the other night. Great timing, Elsa. She scolds herself.
Oblivious to the teenagers surrounding her, Elsa hits her head on the wall, over and over again. "Damn, damn, damn, damn."
There goes her assignments, her books, and her lunch. She doesn't eat the food from the cafeteria. So now, if she wants food from there, She needs to pay, and she doesn't have any money.
"Elsa!" Elsa is suddenly spun around, as Lily grabs her. "Stop hurting yourself and tell me what's wrong." Hiding her swollen hand behind her back, Elsa chucks her bag to Lily. "This is what's wrong." While Lily opens the bag, Elsa goes back to hitting her head on the wall. "It's empty." Remarks Lily. "Exactly! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID ME!" Elsa is shoved away from the wall. "Enough! Worry about that later. I came to tell you that your class started five minutes ago. Let's go!" Elsa yelps as Lily snatches her injured hand, and takes off. Lily immediately skids to a stop, and looks at Elsa with concern. "What's wrong?" "Nothing! You just pulled me off balance." Elsa lies. She quickly takes off, before Lily can ask questions.
Elsa quickly runs to her classroom. Embarrassed, Elsa tries to inconspicuously sneak to her seat. Keeping her head down, she can feel everyone's eyes on her.
"Nice of you to join us, Miss Palomar. Why is there a bruise on your forehead?" Elsa looks up to see Mr. Trank glaring at her. Elsa clears her throat. "Sorry, Mr. Trank. And it's actually Palinomai. I accidentally hit my head." Mr. Trank points to her seat. "Just sit down. I'll deal with your head later. Now, where's your assignment I gave you on Friday?" Elsa groans. "I accidentally left it at home. I am really sorry." Everyone snickers at her. Mr. Trank nods. "It's alright, Miss. You can hand it in tomorrow. Just sit down." Elsa's face must have shown her relief as she sat down.
Mr. Trank hands out an activity sheet. As he tells them how to do it, Elsa forgets about her hand, and grabs a pencil. Immediately, Elsa yelps and drops her pencil. All eyes turn to her. Embarrassed, Elsa leans behind her desk, not just to pick up her pencil. When she comes back up, she finds Mr. Trank standing over her. "Is everything alright, Miss?" He doesn't even try to pronounce her name. "Yes, Mr. Trank. Everything's fine." He nods, suspicious. Elsa continues to write, but with her left hand. "I thought you were right-handed, Miss." Mr. Trank is back. Before she can answer, he continues. "Hold out your hand." Elsa holds out her left hand. "The other one." Elsa reluctantly holds out her right hand. She gasps along with everyone else.

Was that a good cliffhanger? I like them. So what do you think? I have a goal for five votes for this chapter. The same for the others too. I forgot to mention that in the others. And remember, don't vote, unless you mean it! Have a good Chrismas!)
