It had now been eight weeks since I was back in Palmiste Grove, six weeks since I was back at Palmiste Grove High. I still have the dreams but they're not as frequent as they were when I first got here. And I can tell you that that's something that both my Mom and I appreciate.
She asked me once if I had told Caleb about the dreams. In reality, I hadn't. What was the sense scaring or worrying him? We'd grown so much closer in the last couple weeks and I didn't want to ruin that.
I was walking down the hall to my last class one Thursday with some friends when I heard him call out to me. I saw him just ahead and waved bye to my friends. As I got to him, we began walking to our Life Skills class. "Do you wanna sleep over this weekend?" he asked as we walked.
I inwardly panicked. I wanted to, SO badly! But what if I had another dream? What could I do about it? What would he think of me then? I mean we're talking about the entire weekend, not just one night. "Sure?" I awardly smiled. It was awkward because I was admittedly still a little apprehensive about it. "I just have to drop in at home after school tomorrow to get my stuff."
Caleb smiled. "You can just leave it in my car when I pick you up in the morning, if you want."
"Oh, you're picking me up?" I asked. My Mom's been giving me a ride to and from school on her way to work for the last two weeks as Caleb's car was in the shop, getting some repairs done.
"Yup!" he smiled. "I'm picking up Stella after school today. We can hang out after, if you want. I can pick you up."
"Can't. My Mom and I are going out for our monthly dinner tonight." It was a tradition that we had done after Declan died. I had told Caleb about it one day after he asked to hang out on the first one that we'd had since moving back to Palmiste Grove.
"Oh cool. No worries," he said. "I've got you aaaaall to myself this weekend." He mocked an evil laugh that was so awful that I couldn't not laugh. "Hey, you weren't supposed to laugh at my evil laugh!"
We got to the classroom and sat in our seats. "How can I not, when it's so funny!"
"I'll have my way with you this weekend. Just you wait and see." I was about to respond when our teacher walked in and began teaching. What was that comment about? And why did it seem like it a double meaning?

The drive to Caleb's house started our weekend of fun. Dirty Little Secret by The All-American Rejects came on the radio. I turned the volume way up as we song along very loudly, making all kinds of crazy sounds and faces.
Nobody was home when we got to his house, so we went to the kitchen. After securing some cookies and cokes we went up to his room to play video games.
Palmiste Grove is always hot, it never snows and it rains intermittently. So, dressed in swim trunks and tank tops, we made our way to the beach carrying two folding chairs, a picnic basket filled with snacks, a large blaket and lots and lots of sunscreen. We found a spot, unfolded our chairs and laid our stuff out.
We people watched for a bit, playing a pretty hilarious game of Guess What They're Saying. We fell into a comfortable silence. The sea breeze felt so...calming and relaxing that I dozed off for a minute. I was startled by Caleb shouting my name and clapping his hands in my face.
I lazily opened my eyes to find him above me, blocking the sunlight. "You know, that's a really good position," I said. He chuckled and moved, coming around to the front of me and that's when I noticed that he was shirtless. My eyes, cleverly concealed by the sunglasses that I wore, roamed up and down his body.
Clearly, Caleb took very, VERY good care of himself. He was physically perfect. His hair, a little longer than usual, blew in the wind. His natural tan from sports accentuated his perfectly defined pecs and taut stomach. He raised his left hand to pass it through his hair and his bicep bulged, also highlighting his slim waist. When his hand dropped, I couldn't help but watch his waist, where that ever so sexy 'V' was taking shape. I was snapped out of my ogling for a minute when he said "I'm going for a swim. Coming?"
