ALLIE.. one month later
I scramble into class beside my soulmate, Percy Daydream.

Percy laughs when someone goes, "OOOOHHHHH! Late for class again!"
I giggle.
Percy shakes his head, and sighs, "Andrew, shut up. Like you and Andrea aren't late all the time."
Andrew turns pink.

He looks at the desk.
I smile.
Percy and I sit side by side.

A girl glares at me, and shoots water at me.
I block it with a blink of my eyes.
The water hits her in the face.

Percy sniggers, as does Andrew and I.

She screams, "You got me wet, Racer!"
I stand up, Racer marks glowing.
Racers are powerful riders who participate in special races in the school.
Anyone can watch, not just anyone can play.

Today is the day of the last race.
Percy and I get called to the racing stables.

I rush after the long legged boy.
I beat him there, and rush to Apollos' area that only has him and Astra inside.

I call him with our call, and he lands beside me with his saddle in his maw.

I strap it on after ceasing it.

I hop on, and give him the all systems go.

He roars, and takes to the sky.
He flies above the trees, and exits through the dragon sky exit.

Apollo contrasts wonderfully in the bright blue sky.
His compass roses turn to point North.
I whisper. "Point me to the double R."

My compass roses Shadow on top of his, and points me to the Racer ring.

The announcements tell everyone to get into the stands.

The snowy ground flickers below me, and the December air pushes past me.
We glide in, side by side.
Then, we make a dramatic entrance like required.
We leap off seventy feet from the track.

People scream, or the ones who don't know us are.

We close our eyes, and our wings tuck in tighter.

I feel my body going faster and faster.
I feel the cold air push against my face.
I slowly unstuck my wings, opening my eyes.
Percy nods, and banks.
I bank the same way, and we begin to circle each other mid air.

We raise out hands to face each other.
Percy confirms, "Now."
We push our powers out, forming a compass rose.
The North needle spins , right between Percy and I.
We fully extend our wings, landing on our dragons ands we hit the ground.
The wake of our landing formed a heart, like we had planned.

Everyone goes wild, confident that these two must be Racers.
I tuck in my wings, and Percy smiles
We ride to the starting line, along with a boy on a white Chinese dragon.

Percy seems horrified.
No one else comes.
Percy snarls, "Allie, back out now."

I cry, "Why? We're a team!"
Percy looks at me with a stormy face that sends a tear through my heart.
I back out, but don't leave the ring.

I register as his back up.

Percy and the other boy line up, and the gun goes off.
Both dragons take off, and shot through the air.

I never expected what came next...
