The Night of The Incident
•Alfred's POV•

We laughed and had so much fun. But what's more fun is that I finally celebrated Christmas with (y/n). I love her so much... I love her too much that I'd use my power to protect her.

But one day, maybe I can't protect her.

Maybe one day, I wouldn't be there for her– I would never forgive myself for that.

As the night ended, midnight came. I drove (y/n) home... Her face... It was rosy, I could tell that she was really happy due to her never-ending smile.

"Hey, Alfred?" She said before exiting the vehicle.

"Yeah?"

"Meet me tomorrow at the park at 8:30 PM, by Hamburger Street!" She laughed.

"I'll be there! I'll be meeting you on Hamburger Street!" Laughed as well and I kissed her forehead. I have her a fist-bump, too!

I saw her silhouette fade away too quickly for me to bear. She walked so swiftly, suddenly she left to her home.

I smiled in content as I drove my car back to my home.

I hummed to a tune on the radio, it was a sad song, but it was catchy. Ikanaide? Yep, that's what it's called. It was in an English cover but the title was in another language. Was it Japanese or Chinese? I dunno. I should ask Kiku or Yao next time.

After a few minutes, I saw that I was running out of gas. Shit!

I drove up to the nearest gas station to wait then reload. I placed my hand to rest on my forehead.

"Who knew they'd be open this late?" I muttered to myself. Well it is Christmas after all, I think they also had a Christmas Sale for gas.

I looked at my surroundings and saw a shop, it had a beautiful hair clip and a cute Teddy Bear. (Y/n) would like those!

I rushed to the shop and saw that it was on sale. Man do I love Christmas.

I bought the items and asked if they could put this is a gift wrap, the store clerk agreed and the gift looked perfect.

Wrapped in white and had a gold ribbon to top it all off.

I payed it and walked back to the train station. I see the glimmering lights glow in my feet, my shadow keeping me company.

I payed and thanked them for putting in gas. I started the engine once again and drove back home.

I parked my car and opened the front door quietly. There I saw my bro Matthew making a midnight snack: pancakes.

"Welcome home, Alfred. I see you have a gift," He spotted, "Who's it for?"

"It's for (y/n)," I smiled, "What's inside is a secret~!" And with that, I darted up to my room, luckily Arthur wasn't awake. In just a few minutes, I drifted off to sleep with a smile...
__________

I woke up peacefully. No drool or groggy voice– probably a Christmas miracle!

I went with my routine, take a bath, brush my teeth, blah blah, change my clothes and blah blah blah, all that.

I thought of having a morning jog, I'll also buy some cake on the way, it's not for me though. It's for (y/n), obviously.

I jog through Main Street and saw nothing but bakeries with NO CAKE. Why?!

On the way, I also thought... What happened if (y/n) had never met me? For me, I think she'd have a normal life. She wouldn't have cried because she worried too much about me. If we didn't meet, she probably spend her life normally with a normal guy.

Although she accepted me for who I am– even if I'm a country, I know she deserves better. I don't regret anything, but if she were to have a better life...

She shouldn't have met me.

The pain of the thought sticks to me. Going away from my thoughts, I finally saw a bakery with cake. Cute cakes, too! I saw a small cake, a chocolate one with vanilla– I'd like to share that with (y/n).

I checked left and right if there were any cars, a clean road came and so I crossed it.

But what I didn't see was that a rogue car came speeding through...

I knew what would happen next, I felt that the ground was slipping away from me as I walked.

Pitch black darkness came...
__________

I flutter my eyes open to see a blonde man with big-ass eyebrows and a cute lady with him.

The girl sobbed to me, the eyebrow dude spoke up, both crying.

I acted a chuckle, "Thanks but... Who exactly are you dudes?"

(Y/n) stopped crying and Arthur gasped softly with wide eyes...

"Y-You have amnesia..." (Y/n) muttered.

You'd be better off without me, (y/n). You'd have a brighter future. You'd have a rosier and happy smile. The pain would stop. There'd be a perfect guy for you...

'I'm only pretending to have amnesia.'

To Be Continued...
