skype call from hell chap 9

It wasn't long before Katlin had her Skype call up and running and all of her friends were throwing questions at her hard and fast , so fast she found herself not being able to answer them properly .

"Guys calm down we have an hour every week , save some questions for later yeah ?" She says carrying her laptop out with her to the living room where Tyler was laughing at the film , he looked so content and happy that Katlin stopped for a second and felt her heart break . He would never date her at this age , he has to many morals for that .

"Okay , fine but what is it like ?" He friend Britney asked "working for HIM" .

"Guys he's just like any other guy , but he's the second nicest man I've ever met . " Tyler had realised that she was in the room at was looking at her intently . She looked back for a few seconds and found herself trying to look away , she was failing .

"Who's just like any other guy ?" Tyler asked quietly .

"Mark , I'm just telling my friend that Mark isn't like any other man but he's just like anyone to work with . " Katlin stopped .

"Difficult" her and Tyler said at the same time . Laughing until Tyler was on the edge of the sofa and Katlin had sat down on the floor , placing her laptop next to her .

"Don't sit on the floor , I don't bite, come over here . "

"Nah I'm quite comfortable down here . Come join me Tyler come join me . " She said waving her hands around as if she was hypnotize him .

He said nothing and looked like he was being pulled over as Katlin continued with her hand movements .

"I'm here now , what do you want ?" He said sitting next to her .

"A pillow " she said making him shift so that she could put her head on his chest . Because this wasn't illegal , they could do this without feeling guilty .

"Comfortable ?" He said with a shake of his head , but there was a smile on his face .

"Very much so , so guys what are we going to do for an hour ?" Katlin said already know what they were going to do , she had only been gone a week but she knew she had gossip to get filled in on .

"Was that a serious question? Because we have a lot to catch up on in the land of gossip " her other friend , Chloe had said .

"Okay what's going on ?" She said , moving slightly and bringing the laptop with her as she did so . As she did that she snuggled into Tyler's chest a little bit more, but he didn't seem to mind.

"Well ..." Britney kept on talking but all Katlin could think about was how warm Tyler was compared to herself . She was quite weird , cold when it was warm and warm when it was cold . But today she was awfully cold , maybe she was getting sick .

"Are you even listening ?" Britney said stopping mid sentence.

"Yep , listening always " she said and smiled because 'smile always ' had popped into her head .

"What did I just say ?" She said ,looking at her expectantly .

"Sorry to interrupt but can I get up to pee?" Tyler asked and Katlin moved until she was sat like a baby , staring at Tyler waiting for him to get up .

"So kat what's going on there ?" Lucy asked , this being the first time she had talked since the call had started.

"Nothing , he's dense . Plus I know that he wouldn't date a 15 year old because he's to nice and pure for that " what Katlin couldn't tell was that Tyler was listening from the bathroom doorway and was feeling his heart break slightly .

He had feelings for this young girl but he had promised himself that he wouldn't do anything until she was at least 16 not thinking that she would want him back but now his dreams may have just become a reality .

"Why wouldn't he like you , your gorgeous. Plus if he thinks that age isn't just a number then he's stupid . " Lucy said , letting out her inner blonde .

"Yeah but age is a number when it's against the law . Plus he's so nice and hot and he would never see me when he works with so many beautiful women hell and men that are ALL his age . " Katlin said , just making herself sadder.

"Why don't we ask him ?" Britney said , and Katlin could already see her mind at work .

"Brit don't . Please " Katlin said , her voice tearful but no tears were in her eyes .

Tyler chose this moment to come back from the bathroom and sat himself next to her , he had listened to the whole conversation and just wanted to sit on his own for a while but knew that she would find it strange if he didn't come back .

"Hey , Tyler was it ? Did you know that kat has a massive crush on you . And thinks you're really hot " Brit said . Katlin felt her heart sort of crumble and scatter into her stomach making butterfly form .

"Brit I told you not to . " She said hanging up on her friends , not wanting to see or talk to them again , it was easy to fall out but it was hard to mend that trust if it mends at all and it was broken many times before . But never healed .

She slammed her laptop shut, and almost sprinted to her room at the top of the stairs . Her headphone cable almost tripped her up many times but she couldn't let it stop her .

Her heart was fluttering in her chest , and she felt the worst that she had ever felt . Her anxiety that she left England to out run had come back and hit her like a bus and she was seconds away from a panic attack .

She could hear Tyler. Breathing from behind her in the hallway in front of the stairs . But she couldn't look back she just couldn't .

"Kat " he shouted at her but he made no effort to move .

She didn't want to move , she didn't want to talk and she certainly couldn't even see through all of the tears streaming down her face . She couldn't believe that her friends would do this to her , well at least she didn't have any friends back home now . Nobody her age to miss , only her family .

"Katlin ? I don't really know what to say right now . Is it okay if I sit ? " He said , he looked sad and his eyes were a little bit red but he'd have no reason to cry , or at least that's what she thought .

She nods , laying down on her bed . She looks at him , a signal to lay rather than sit , after all her friends did just out her crush to her crush and he wasn't really being bad about it he wasn't doing anything about it . Katlin couldn't help but think that was better .

"So . Is it true ? Do you like me ?"

"Would it be so bad . Okay fine yeah I do I'm sorry " she said , sniffling a little .

"What's there to be sorry about , you can't help who you fall for , I would know because she's right next to me and I'm barely keeping myself together because I can't have her "

Katlin's breath got caught in her throat as she turned to look at him , he had tears streaming down his face now as well but his voice didn't show it .

She couldn't help herself , she leaned over slightly . Doing the thing she thought they only did in movies and books , searching his eyes for any signs of doubt before finally kissing him .

"We shouldn't" he says but he didn't push her back , she took this as a plus . Small victories she thought small victories.
