back in LA chap 19

They left Cincinnati on the 28th , leaving Tyler to bring Angus at a later date . They had spent almost an hour saying goodbye , and it had ended with Tyler getting the K dog tag to give back to her when she gets back and she currently had his hoodie on and the T dog tag hanging out .

Her flight was tomorrow but she couldn't help but be nervous , what if the hoodie wasn't what kept her calm on that flight to Cincinnati , what if it was Tyler being there that calmed her instead. If so then she would be fucked , but the hoodie seemed to work on the flight back so she should be okay.

"You all packed?" Mark questioned as he came into her room where she was packing.

"Mostly , just some things I cant decide if I need to take or not " Katlin says , holding up 2 pairs of different colour boots .

"How many have you already got in there ?" he interrogates .

"1 pair in there " She points to the bag "and 1 pair I'm going to wear on my feetsies " She says , showing her true age for once.

"On your feetsies ?" He teases.

"Yeppers , on my feetsies " she says grinning her widest gin as she prances around her room to put her shoes away.

"Right then" He laughs and contemplates joining in but he thinks against it , he already has a headache and cant risk making it worse as he has videos to record . But he looks at her with pure wonder as he follows her down the stairs with a hop in her step .

She wanders into the kitchen and grabs a water bottle from the fridge and a bag of crisps from the cupboard , before plopping herself down on the sofa .

"What are we watching ?" Katlin asks but Mark had to check as well .

"We could always watch a film" Mark suggested, "harry potter?" Mark said getting up to hold up all 8 harry potter movies .

"Pick 2" He stated .

"Prisoner of Azkaban and goblet of fire " she said , rubbing at her chin jokingly .

Midway through the second film Katlin started to get text messages .

"Lover boy ?" Mark questions with a smirk .

"Yeah ," she says with a smile " He's saying that Angus seems to know what's going on , he's started sitting by the door and by his cage ready to go " She says texting Tyler back.

"Angus was always a smart cat " Mark muttered looking back at the TV.

K: are we going to skype when I'm in England ?

T: of course , you might have to deal with my cranky arse being all tired

K: Or you'll have to deal with mine :)

Katlin couldn't help but smile as she imagines Tyler being all sleepy when they skype , him being all sleepy and voice all gravely .

"-Are you even listening to me?" Mark whined waving a hand in front of her face.

"No sorry " She uttered , looking down at her phone as it pings .

"You see you're going to want to , I was saying how about we call Lover boy . He obviously wants to talk to you and I need to discuss videos with him for the new year . "

"Yeah , I guess we could call him , you're laptop or mine ?" She asks , sending Tyler a quick message to tell him that they're going to be skyping him.

"Mine , it's in the kitchen" He says going to get up but she stops him .

"I'll get it , I'm still hungry " She mutters , placing her dead foot on the floor and hisses and shivers as she tries to walk on it .

"I wish I'd stop sitting like that , it never fails to make my legs dead " She moans under her breath .

"Well then , there's you're new years resolution " Mark pestered. He never liked her sitting like that , said it would give her arthritis in her knees .

"Yeah , yeah whatever you say " She remarked .

When Katlin came back from the kitchen mark was on the phone with someone.

"Yes I know, give me a few days I'll see Katlin off and I'll come around and record with you. Yes Ethan I'll call you when she lands my God you're such a mother hen" He teased mouthing a 'thank you' to her as she gave him his laptop.

"Yes I'll get her to call you , Yes Ethan she's here with me now . Yes , do you hear that Katlin ? Ethan wants you to call him when you land in England to make sure you're okay" Mark exaggerates to her.

"Yes , Yes Bye Ethan" He says quickly hanging up , and putting his phone down on the coffee table before opening the laptop screen.

"Did you already tell him we're going to call him?" He questioned , opening the skype app on the screen. Tyler was online and so was Ethan , so mark added them both to the video call and they both sat staring at the screen before Ethan picked up and then Tyler.

"Hey guys " Mark said into the screen and got two enthusiastic responses and they continued talking and listening to Ethan talk about his Christmas.

"Hey Kat , you with us?" Ethan asked looking into the screen.

"Huh? oh yeah sorry , still here " She stuttered with a smile on her face.

"What were you thinking about?" Tyler asked.

"At this time tomorrow I'm going to be feeding pigs and sitting at the table having family dinner , not necessarily in that order" She laughed.

"Possibly in that order" Mark chuckled and so did Katlin.

"Most likely in that order , animals get fed first " She's laughing so hard at this point she's almost crying , and she's not quite sure why.

"So what's the first thing your going to do when you get home ?" Tyler questioned.

"Kiss the ground , hug my dogs and eat breakfast , as it will be around 9 or 10 when I get there "

"How does that work ?" Ethan asked , forgetting about the time difference .

"They're 6 hours ahead of us , I leave at 4 it's 11 flight so it should be about 9 when I land " She explained .

"You packed yet ?" Tyler asked suspecting he already knew the answer .

"Not yet , I'll get there" She says with a nod.

"Well go get packed , otherwise you'll be rushing around all day " Tyler scolded and she knew that he was being serious so she said her goodbyes and wandered to her room , throwing in that extra pair of shoes as she skulked across her room , adding a Christmas present she had forgotten about every so often.

Tonight's going to be a long night .
