We need to talk chap 16

"Katlin I think we need to talk about you and Tyler... I know you two are dating . I'm not sure how I feel about it yet so don't ask , I want to talk to you both at the same time . So we're going to get Tyler and we are all having a long talk " mark says , he's stood in his markiplier pajama pants. The ones that katlin could never take him seriously in.

"Okay , are we going now ?" She said looking down at his pajama pants and her tank top and shorts.

"Let's get dressed , we can go and get lover boy in a minute " he says and then does something that shocks her , he gives her a huge hug.

"You know you'll be my little sister even if you are dating one of my best friends ?" He says into her hair. And he feels her nod.

"Are you going to hit him?" She mutters into his chest.

"I don't know yet , probably not . I'm not sure yet " he said , like he was forcing himself to answer. She could tell the words were forced but it would have to do for now because she could tell he hadn't made up his mind on what he was going to do.

She found herself in her jeans and her new boots standing in front of the mirror. Trying to erupt herself from her thoughts , and failing.

"Kat , you are only half dressed and stood in the middle of the room , you good ?" Mark asked , averting his eyes from her bra.

"Please don't hurt him , he's the only person I've ever felt this way about " she says , tossing on a shirt of marks.

"The only one ?" He questions "no one back home in England?"

"I'm 15, an awkward mess and a girl who likes books and staying in a little to much. " she says , smiling at him.

"And that's why he likes you so much " he said under his breath , as if he didn't want her to hear it.

"Lets go , believe it or not , I'm looking forward to this chat. " he says , he knows how this is going to go even if he isn't letting on to katlin. He was going to give the 'big brother' talk and then let them be happy with each other.

When they got there , katlin was standing outside of Tyler's parents door , mark had stayed in the car and told katlin that she got a chance to explain what was going on before they talked.

"Hello , um is Tyler here ?" She asked a Lovely looking lady at the door.

"Ah he's in bed , can I take a name I'll tell him you came by when he wakes up."

"Katlin, marks intern" she said an the women gasped.

"It's you , Tyler talks about you all of the time , your the only thing he ever talks about now " she said and Katlin knew in the moment that this was Tyler's mum.

"Hi , yeah I'm his girlfriend. He talks about me?" Tyler's mum nodded.

"He talks about you a lot dear , and don't worry I won't tell anyone " she says and katlin can't help but smile.

"It's a bit to late for that , mark already knows , that's why I'm here. He wants to talk to Tyler. With my brother being back in England mark has taken on the role. " she says and Tyler's mum , Mary , opened to door wider for her to go past.

"His room is the first to the left , don't mind the cat he's naturally bad tempered. " And with that Mary walked off in the direction of the kitchen.

Walking into the room she remembers that morning at marks house where Tyler said about living alone and him grabbing her. So she made her steps heavy and heard a cat meow from the bottom of the bed.

"Tyler , Tyler you have to wake up we have a problem , TYLER. " she says , whisper yelling the last part into the quiet room.

"Mm Kat , what are you doing here ?"

While the whole conversation about mark finding out was going on , Tyler's mum was beckoning mark to come inside.

"Come on in dear , how have you been ?" She asked , putting a tea bag in a mug. She's known mark for years she knows exactly what he needs.

"I've been good , how about you Mary ?" He asked , hearing Tyler and katlin talking to each other only about 20 feet away.

"Good , so you are here to speak to Tyler about his relationship with the young girl ?" She asked putting the cup in front of him at the table.

"Hm" he said , with a nod.

"Tyler really likes this girl and she seems to be good for him. Promise me after all the time we've know each other you'll let them be happy " she paused " he's happy with her , like you are with Amy so let them be "

"Thank you Mary , I will , I'm just here to give him the whole 'you hurt her I hurt you' speech. She's like my little sister " he says , looking deep into the tea , before he hears Tyler and katlin walking into the room.

"Shall we talk ?" Tyler says , looking nervous and he kept running a finger over the bracelet that katlin got him for Christmas.

"Yeah , Kat why don't you spend some time with , Mary , have some tea maybe " he suggested pointedly.

"Okay " she said to mark. "Goodluck" she whispered to Tyler before sitting down in front of Mary.

They walked into the living room , Tyler going first and mark following close behind.

"I'm not going to tell you to stop dating her but I'm going to say-"

"Mark stop , I know how you feel about this-"

"Let me finish, I was going to tell you that if you hurt the little girl I've taken as my sister I will hurt you , a lot worse than you hurt her. She deserves a lot and I know you can give her that, she told me today that you're the only person she's ever felt this way about. So take care of her , and I saw the necklace. It's beautiful, you're my family but so is she"

"Thank you , I expected a punch in the mouth at least" Tyler said and then winced , he just invited someone to punch him, in the face no less.

"I would never , plus she told me not to " mark joked. "We good ?" He said , looking at him with a tilted head.

"We're good" he muttered , looking up from the floor.

"Shall we go tell her ?" Tyler asked.

"Nah , she sounds like she's having a great time with your mom" mark said , and heard laughter from the kitchen.

"That's what I'm worried about " he said laughing along when mark starts to giggle like a teenager.
