Hunter's POV
I let my eyes sweep over the mass of blood and torn body parts littering and staining the ground with crimson and dark brown. My gaze is calculating, vengeful. My fists clench and unclench as I let the thrill of the massacre course through my veins. I had let the Torturer surface, and now the two Elites who had pinned me down and kept me from saving Emma were hidden in different pieces around the gloomy forest.
"Well isn't this an interesting sight to behold." I close my eyes and breathe slowly to try to calm myself, something I'd picked up from Em. It had amused me at first, but now it helped me from murdering anyone else and going on a full-blown killing rampage. I slowly turn to face Dominic, who's smiling at me.
"I told you that the Torturer would resurface someday," he says nicely, though the underlay of his voice is edged. "I just had to press the right buttons."
Suddenly, my whole body freezes and I take a step towards my Maker, eyes narrowing at him as uncontrollable madness begins to seep into me. "You hired the Elites to attack us?"
Dominic tilts his head and grins, shrugging, "I need the Torturer for my plan, and the soft-hearted vampire that you were becoming simply wasn't going to work."
I'm trembling all over, and my vision blurs red. My fangs instead and I stride over in a second to stand in front of Dominic. "EMMA WAS ABDUCTED BECAUSE OF YOU!?" I shout, barely keeping myself from lunging at him. Dominic merely continues to grin and he cocks his head to the side, contemplating me.
"Everything is going as planned, I assure you. Emma will be taken by our enemies and I will thereby be able to track her."
"How?"
"I had a tracking device set into that necklace you gave her."
The rage that fills me is so strong, I'm amazed that I haven't ripped his head off. Yet. "You said that you knew where they were located," I force out between gritted teeth.
"I lied," he replies evenly, though now his voice is much colder. Gone is the smile. "You know, the Hunter I knew before would have agreed to this without question to wipe out the enemy."
"Things change," I bite back, "And you've never said why exactly these people are your enemies too."
His face hardens and I can see that his eyes flare with red. "I have my reasons. Emma is part of that reason." I tense up at the mention of her name, and he nods at me, a grim look taking over his cold features, "And I know that she's also the reason why the Torturer's remained hidden away until now. I knew that her being put in danger would bring him back."
"And here we are." I finish lowly, narrowed eyes still contemplating all of the different ways that I could kill him. He notices my murderous intentions and takes a step towards me, staring at me with a smug, cruel smile, revealing gleaming fangs.
"If you kill me, your hope of ever finding Emma again dies. I'm the only one who can track her down. Remember that."
And with those final words, he disappears from my field of vision, leaving me quietly staring at the silent forest around me. Not even the sight of the bloody and gory mess can alleviate the pain in my chest at the thought of losing her forever.

Emma's POV
The van comes to an abrupt stop, and I lurch forward, only the seatbelt holding me back. I slam back into the seat and bite my lip when pain shoots through my back. I still haven't healed.
"Home sweet home," Jay exclaims, turning around to face me again with a cruel smile marring his beautiful, cold face. The warmth that I once knew and loved is gone. "You ready princess?"
"Go to hell." I hiss out, tensing under his stare. He lets out a low chuckle and sighs, before sliding out of his seat.
"Already there," he replies, tauntingly walking over to my side and slowly pulling the door open. He's mocking me. He reaches over me to unbuckle my seat belt, and my whole body freezes all over. I can feel his upper body shaking against me as he chuckles, and I bite back a snarl when his finger brushes over my wrist languidly. I hear the click of the buckle, and i stay completely frozen until he's left my personal space and is standing up again. However, I let out that snarl that I'd been keeping holed up when he reveals a pair of glistening hand cuffs.
"Feisty I see," he says, leaning in again so that his face is level with mine, "I like."
"Fuck you."
"Wouldn't you love that princess?"
I prevent myself from lunging at him when he looks at me expectantly. It takes all I have in me not to break down as I slide out of he van, standing upright in front of him. He lets his stare run me up and down, and then sighs, holding out the cuffs. I extend my hands with narrowed eyes and he meticulously links my wrists, before grabbing a strong hold on my right upper arm. He's done this many times already. A chill runs down my spine at the horrifying thought of what the Jay I once loved has become.
He pushes me forwards and we walk silently towards what appears to be a simple, metal, square warehouse looming in front of us. There is no life, that is, until we get to the entrance. A feel every blood-thirsty vampire's gaze settling on me, and even Jay's cold breath fans my neck as he inhales. "I knew you smelled different."
"Good to know," I say between gritted teeth, but I only get a shove in turn of my snarky reply.
"Watch your mouth these people princess," Jay hisses, and directs me towards a black, sleek door. He pushes it open and steers me inside. When it closes behind us with a click!, the late morning sun is blocked out and we're drowned in complete darkness. Then, row after row of spotlights bring back a white, blinding glow that forces me to squint my eyes so that I can adjust. Jay doesn't seem bothered, as he simply pushes me forward again, nearly sending me tripping over my boots.
"What happened to you?" I finally give in to my painful curiosity, and I think that he vaguely stiffens behind me, before shrugging indifferently.
"I was brought back from the dead princess," he replies coldly, as if he didn't care. I suppose he doesn't, not anymore. The knowledge that I was the one to put him down and force this new persona on him makes my stomach overlap nauseatingly. I can't feel that bond that we once shared. When he died, I suppose that it died with him.
Murdered, a snarky voice in the back of my mind reminds me bitterly, When he was murdered. By you.
"Ah. I was wondering when I'd finally meet the renowned Emma Sanders."
My head whips to a iron railing that wraps around an elevated platform, where a business suit-clad and young man rests his hands. Piercing green eyes stare directly into mine, and he smiles cruelly, flashing pointed fangs. He nods at Jay who brings me closer, and that's when I notice someone standing behind the vampire.
"Come and greet your daughter Vincent," he orders in a crystal-clear voice. I freeze, and I hear my blood pumping louder in my veins as shock overtakes me. The person hiding behind the vampire steps around him and into the light. My mouth falls open and my breath hitches in my throat when the man looks at me, a sorrowful look on his face. He offers a sad smile that reminds me so much of Alice and the whisper passes my lips.
"Dad?"
