Kaelynns pov

I'm two months months pregnant now and I have a doctors appointment today. I'm excited but nervous you never know what to expect at these things. Abel had to go out of town for work but he said that he'll be at the appointment no matter what. It's great that he is invested into this pregnancy just as much as I am. I've been thinking that maybe I was too hard on him, but he still has to prove to me that he's changing for the better.

After breakfast and a shower I got dressed and it was time for me to head to my appointment. I got there a little late due to the heavy traffic. I rushed into the place and signed my name on the sheet at the front desk. A older lady greeted me and told me to have a seat until they call me back. I take a seat in the corner and watch the other expecting mothers. Most of them looked like they were in there third trimester I smiled at the thought that I'll be in there shoes one day. Ten minutes passed and I realized Abel just might not make it. I won't fault him though he has to work.

"Kaelynn Harris." A nurse calls me name.

As soon I get up the door burst open and Abel walks in. I can admit that when I saw him a smile crept up on my face.

"You made it." I say as we walk back to the room they have for us.

He looks over with a smile "I told you that I wouldn't miss it for anything."

"Ok, dad I'll have you wait in here while I weigh her." The nurse says to Abel and he nods his head while sitting down.

She takes me down the hall and weighs me I've gained three pounds already which is not that bad. The nurse also gives me a cup to put my urine in. After I do that she takes me back to the room and takes my blood pressure.

"Every thing looks normal. The doctor will be in shortly." The nurse says before leaving.

Ten minutes later the doctor walks in.

"Hello Kaelynn I'm Dr.Powell I'm going to be your doctor for the rest of your pregnancy." We shake hands.

"I'm Abel the baby's father." Abel says when the doctor looks at him.

"Now that we are all acquainted let's get right into it. Kaelynn I need you to remove your underwear and lay back for me."

I do what he says and I lay back. I'm wearing a dress right now so all of my bottom half is not exposed.

"We're not going to do an ultrasound today but we are going to listen to the heart beat." He looks me in the eyes to make sure I'm paying attention.

He took a weird little hairdryer thing which is called a Doppler and began searching for the heartbeat. I can admit the first seven seconds of not hearing anything was nerve racking but then we heard whoosh whoosh whoosh then my nerves went away. It is a beautiful magical sound that made my heart flutter. I look over at Abel and he's smiling so hard.

"Your baby has a very strong heart beat which is very good."

We listen to the heartbeat for a couple more minutes then he turns it off. I put my panties back on and sit up on the table.

"Your blood test that you gave the first time that you were here is back from the lab and I'm going to give you your results." The doctor puts on his glasses and sits on a stool.
