Lamar pov
Two months later

"No I don't like this venue man. It's way too big and for a small baby shower."

"I think so too Lamar, I don't think she'll like this place either." I watch as Abel takes another look around.

The venue is 5000 square feet and it is located in downtown LA. With large white walls and grey concrete floors it's beautiful but not right for a baby shower.

My sister is seven months pregnant now and I decided to throw her a baby shower. All she does is work lately and I think she forgot about the traditional parties for pregnant women. Abel joined in on the party planning because he honestly didn't think of it himself.

"The next venue is smaller than this and it's closer to Kaelynns house. The only thing is we have to make a decision on if we want it or not today." I say as we make our way out of the large venue.

"Having a smaller venue will definitely be better" Abel says with his dark shades still on his face.

I get in the passenger seat and Abel is driving. I give him directions and we take off.

"It's getting close to kaelynns due date, are you ready for it?" I ask him.

"No I'm not ready if I'm being honest, but I don't think she is either." He rubs his head as we come to a stop sign.

"What do you mean?" I asked a little confused.

"Kaelynn and I don't talk that much but I can tell she is nervous about giving birth. We haven't even decided on a name yet."

"Maybe it's time for a talk with her then. I know she doesn't want to bother you now that you are dating Jaime but y'all need to talk."

He nods before cutting the radio up and stopping the conversation. I'm glad Abel's doing what Kaelynn wanted and seeing other people but I don't like Jamie. It's not like she is a bad person, but something about her rubs me the wrong way. I'm very surprised Kaelynn likes her.

After a long drive because of the usual traffic we make to the next venue on our list. The woman that owns this building is waiting for us by the door when we get out of the car. We greet the lady and she takes us inside.

"I'll leave you guys alone to look around when you are finished I'll be outside." They lady smiles before leaving.

This venue is a little over 2000 square feet and is also located in downtown LA. It has sparkling white tiles and the walls are painted white with art work perfectly hanging from them. The venue has a big area with glass doors with a good view so you can walk in and out.

"This is perfect." Abel says while taking off his glasses.

"Yes, this is the one I know she'll like this one." I agree and we look around again.

"It almost looks likes her house so I know she'll be comfortable here. I think we need to have this party in the next week or two before she goes into the eighth month of pregnancy." Abel says to me while we walk outside to book with Maddie.

"We think this venue would be perfect for us and we would like to book this space for next Sunday." I speak to her and she smiles.

"That's great nobody has booked for that day. How many hours would you like to reserve." She asks while taking a pen and notebook out her bag.

"We only need about four hours." Abel says.

She nods "Great, if you don't mind me asking what are you using the space for?"

"I'm throwing my sister a surprise baby shower." I tell her and she writes it down.

She smiles "Oh, that's cool. Well to rent this place out it'll cost $1,000 including clean up."

"That's fine we'll pay you today." Abel says.

"Alright follow me and I'll get you taken care of and a receipt." Maddie says motioning Abel to follow her.

Kaelynns pov

"Stop kicking mommy." I look down and rub my big belly.

I'm so ready for this to be over my back and feet are killing me. Sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day is starting to get really old. I use to do exiting things like check on different things for my boss but since I'm at the end of my pregnancy he doesn't want to over work me. I don't talk to anyone here but my boss and I feel like I'm going a little insane. Also everyone stares at me when I speed walk to the restroom. The only two people I always talk to is Derek and Lamar. I need more friends but don't like people it's so frustrating.

"Hey Kaelynn can you come to my office for a little bit." My boss asks.

"What's up do you need me to input more inventory into the computer."

"No, it's nothing like that I just wanted to tell you how great of a job you have been doing. I know I can trust you and I want to promote you kaelynn."

"Are you serious Mr.McCain?" I asked a little shocked I haven't been working here that long.

"Yes." He chuckles "A manager at one of my hotels will be let go soon and I need to replace him. I thought I was going to have to interview applicants but then I thought of you. I know you have the experience so I would like to give you a chance. That's if you want it of course."

"Yes, I would love to be a manager at one of your hotels." I smile brightly.

"Great now that I know you want the job that's where you will work when you come back from maternity leave. I'll also give you the rest of the day off."

"Okay, thank you for the opportunity I'm excited to do this ."

We stand and I shake his hand before leaving his office. I walk back to my desk and gather all my things for the day. I don't know that I'm smiling until I see myself on the glass window of my car.

I drive home feeling so great nothing can bring my mood down. I feel my baby girl kick and I just smile. When I make it home I kick my shoes off and get out the ice cream I've been craving all day. I take a seat on the couch and look on my phone to see a text message from Lamar that says 'Call me when you can I have to ask you something,' I shrug my shoulders and dial his number.

"Hey Lamar what's up?" I ask when he answers the phone.

"Hey sis I was wondering if you would let me photograph your maternity shoot."

"Um I wasn't planning on doing a maternity shoot, but if you want to be the photographer than yeah I'll do it." I shrug my shoulders it shouldn't be that bad.

"Great I'll pick you up after you get off work." I can here the smile on your face.

"I'm off work tomorrow so just pick me up at 1pm."

"Alright sounds good I'll see you then sis, bye."

"Bye Lamar." I hang up and go back to eating my ice cream."

Now that I'm back to living a normal life I guess it's time to do things I've never done. I'm actually kind of excited to do this maternity shoot. I don't know why I didn't think of doing one before I guess pregnancy stuff just slipped my mind.
